Love Island USA Recap, Friday 6/5/26
Time has not healed any wounds when it comes to Melanie and Sincere. After their argument on Thursday, the pair still remains divided (at best). Sincere has been getting closer to Kayda, the first bombshell of Season 8. In response, Melanie is giving him the cold shoulder. She’s not mad that he talked to Kayda, but a bit of honesty about his desire to explore would go a long way.
“If it doesn’t work with Sincere, I can get exactly what I want with someone else,” Melanie said in a confessional. “It’s raining men in here!” Unsurprisingly, she ends up pulling aside KC the very next day. That drew a bit of frustration from his partner, Aniya. Melanie has been outspoken about who she has her eye on, drawing some ire from Beatriz among others.
Next, it was time for the “Boss Bitch” challenge. The girls needed to announce their office crush, a.k.a. someone that isn’t their partner. In addition, they needed to read a performance review question and pick one other person that fit the description. Then, it was time to collect their bonus in the secret backroom: new bombshell Corbin. To wrap it all up, another kiss with their island couple.
A few highlights:
- Beatriz chose Sincere as her office crush and picked Kenzie as the girl who “wasn’t afraid to step on any toes”. The last part doesn’t come as a major surprise; the latter had been making moves on Beatriz’s partner Gabriel. In response, Kenzie picked Gabriel as her office crush later in the challenge.
- Melanie chose KC as her office crush, which shocked Aniya. Even worse, he came off as “too chipper” to make out on the table. Next, Melanie said that the person who should be fired is none other than Kayda. Then, she was quite eager to get in a hook up with Corbin.
- Kayda got her revenge, saying that the person who needed a “promotion” from their couple was Sincere. “I’m a tit for tat girl,” Kayda stated. “Do not come for me because I will come for you.” The move drew a shocked reaction across the board from her fellow islanders.
Melanie and Kayda hashed it out post-challenge. The latter claimed that her pick would have been the same regardless of what question was asked. Elsewhere, Kenzie squashed her beef with Beatriz, telling her that she hasn’t really made a strong connection with anyone on the island.
To make things more interesting, Corbin officially introduced himself to the rest of the cast. It was there that the guys realized it wasn’t his first meeting with the ladies. A shocked Sincere seemed to get extra worried due to Melanie’s excitement at the bombshell’s arrival. At this point, he’s at major risk of getting pushed aside in favor of the island’s newest arrival.
As Corbin was chatting with the women, Melanie pulled him aside for a private conversation. That was a red flag for Beatriz, who told Melanie upon her return that what she did was “a little excessive.”
Melanie’s response? Telling Beatriz to “relax,” taking things from a simmer to boiling in a matter of seconds. She claimed nothing was done on purpose, and it wasn’t her intent to ice out the other ladies. “You did too much,” Melanie said, right before storming off on the verge of tears. Beatriz then said that she didn’t know Melanie was “so sensitive.” It’s all leading up to the first re-coupling of the season on Sunday night. Stay tuned to Love Island USA…
