Matteo Arnaldi has withdrawn from the French Open semi-final against Flavio Cobolli, sending Cobolli to the Roland-Garros final.

In a shocking turn of events, Matteo Arnaldi has withdrawn from the French Open semi-final against Flavio Cobolli due to a stomach virus. This is devastating news for the Italian, who was set to play in the biggest match of his life this evening. Matteo Arnaldi had gone on an incredible run as a player outside of the top 100 in the world and made a major semi-final. Unfortunately, he will not get the chance to take it one step further by defeating his fellow countryman, Flavio Cobolli.

Flavio Cobolli will now automatically move on to his first major final. Cobolli will face Alexander Zverev in the final, following his win over Jakub Mensik earlier today. Both players are seeking their first-ever major title on Sunday.
