This article will look at my top Pick6 plays for tonight’s slate. We simply choose whether a player will record more or less of the set statistic. Here are my favorite plays for tonight’s action.
Karl-Anthony Towns More Than 28.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
Towns’ current playoff run has already been living above this number tonight, and through 15 games this postseason, he’s averaging 17.0 PPG, 10.7 RPG, and 5.7 APG, which comes out to 33.4 PRA. Game 1 followed the same script with 18 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists in 34 minutes, even without a big scoring night. The matchup context helps, too: the Spurs’ rim protection forces New York to swing the rock around, and Towns has been able to find value when the Spurs load up on Brunson, either as an elbow hub or as the short-roll decision maker. He’s also able to attack Victor Wembanyama directly with his speed, driving on Wemby several times in Game 1 successfully. If San Antonio adjusts by putting more size and attention on Towns to keep him off easy paint touches, that usually shifts his production from points into assists, because the shooters get better looks.
Josh Hart More Than 6.5 Rebounds
You’d have to pry this Pick6 out of my hands. Did we watch the same Game 1? Josh Hart was certifiably flying around the court, aggressively crashing the glass whenever he saw daylight in the lane. Hart pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds in the opener, even while playing only 27 minutes, which tells you the opportunities are there in this matchup. He’s also averaging 9.1 RPG in the 2026 playoffs, so seven is comfortably below his postseason baseline.
The matchup assignment matters too: San Antonio has been comfortable putting Wembanyama on Hart so Wemby can patrol the paint, and that alignment keeps Hart near the action for long rebounds, tip-outs, and second-chance lunges rather than parking him on the perimeter. For the Knicks, this is also an essential part of their identity. Hart’s energy on the glass is how they steal extra possessions, settle games when the offense is choppy, and keep the pressure on all game, which is why he’s such a menace on the glass.
Jalen Brunson More Than 25.5 Points
The volume, as we saw in Game 1, will simply be there for the Captain, who came alive late in the game once again to draw first blood in his first-ever NBA Finals. He scored 13 points in the fourth quarter. Even though he didn’t have a great shooting night with just 12/31 on the night, he’s still averaging 27.1 PPG in the playoffs, so 26 is basically his postseason baseline.
San Antonio is expected to keep Stephon Castle on him as the primary defender again, but Brunson still found his points with Castle in his jersey by leaning into pull-ups, pace changes, and getting to his spots in the midrange when the Spurs kept him out of the paint. If Game 2 is competitive late, New York’s offense is still going to finish in Brunson’s hands, and we can be sure that he’s going to deliver.
