There are a handful of big-name arms taking the mound Wednesday, including two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani and up-and-coming aces Chase Burns and Gavin Williams. DraftKings Sportsbook has strikeout prop bets for all three of them, so we made our picks for the best bets, too. Can Ohtani stay red-hot? Will Burns post a fifth straight victory? Can Williams deal a fourth consecutive quality start? Here is our full breakdown of where we think each starting pitcher will wind up in the strikeout column.
Best MLB Strikeout Prop Bets Today (June 3, 2026)
- New York Yankees vs. Cleveland Guardians: Guardians RHP Gavin Williams 7+ strikeouts: Williams has gone for 7+ K in 8 of 12 starts this season, as well as his lone outing against the Yankees and their collection of strikeout-prone sluggers in 2025 .
- Cincinnati Reds vs. Kansas City Royals: Reds RHP Chase Burns 7+ strikeouts: Burns has tossed 7+ K in 8 of 11 starts this season – including 3 straight and 6 of his last 7 – and has not been slowed down by comparable or tougher matchups when it comes to plate discipline.
- Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Los Angeles Dodgers: Dodgers RHP Shohei Ohtani 7+ strikeouts: Ohtani has reached 7+ K in 6 of his last 7 starts, plus his ability to reach 6.0 IP with relative ease gives him a reliable floor to bet on even against a disciplined D-backs lineup.
MLB Strikeout Prop Bets Breakdown
Gavin Williams 7+ K (-132), New York Yankees vs. Cleveland Guardians
Fresh off a breakout 2025 campaign, Gavin Williams has taken another leap forward in 2026. He leads the AL in wins and innings pitched, owning a 3.07 ERA, 1.087 WHIP and 10.4 strikeouts per nine innings. Through 12 starts, Williams has hit 7+ strikeouts eight times. He already has three double-digit strikeout performances on the season, two of which have come on the road. Williams has 10 appearances that have lasted at least six frames, but he has still managed to break seven punchouts in two of the three that failed to last that long. And while he hasn’t faced the Yankees this season, Williams did strike out eight in 6.1 innings against the Bronx Bombers back in 2025. New York strikes out the eighth-most times per game in MLB, and I expect Williams to take advantage of guys like Aaron Judge, Jazz Chisholm Jr., Ryan McMahon and Austin Wells.
Chase Burns 7+ K (-140), Cincinnati Reds vs. Kansas City Royals
The 23-year-old right-hander has gone for seven-plus strikeouts in eight of 11 starts this season, including three straight and six of his last seven. Burns has also lasted at least 5.0 frames every single time he has taken the mound, so there is a pretty high floor in place when it comes to his usage. And while the Royals average the ninth-fewest strikeouts per game in the majors, that hasn’t stopped Burns from punching out eight against the Mets and Rays – who rank No. 9 and No. 2 in that category, respectively. With a 7-1 record, 1.96 ERA, 0.964 WHIP and 10.1 strikeouts per nine innings this season, Burns is a genuine NL Cy Young candidate who has shown no signs of slowing down. He missed his start on Monday due to illness, but the two-day delay presumably has him in good enough shape to string together a standard outing.
Shohei Ohtani 7+ K (+110), Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
After striking out six and two in his first two starts of the season, Ohtani has been generating punchouts at a far more impressive rate. The two-way superstar has hit 7+ strikeouts in six of his last seven appearances, boasting 11.1 strikeouts per nine innings in that span. On the whole this season, Ohtani is 5-2 with a 0.82 ERA, 0.818 WHIP and 2.5 WAR as a pitcher alone. While the Diamondbacks’ lineup is averaging the third-fewest strikeouts per game across the big leagues, but they boast a below-average 98 OPS+. Ohtani has lasted at least 5.0 IP in every start this season, completing 6.0 IP in eight of nine, as well as his final start of the 2025 regular season at Arizona. He struck out eight in that outing, and I don’t think this year’s Diamondbacks will be able to chase Ohtani off the mound early, either.
