The Memorial Tournament will be played at Muirfield Village Golf Club (par 72, 7,569 yards, bentgrass greens) in Dublin, Ohio. Jack Nicklaus designed this course and Muirfield Village has been the home of the Memorial since its inception in 1976. Scottie Scheffler is the two-time defending champion of the Memorial, and as a Signature Event, it features the PGA TOUR’s best players competing for a $20 million purse. This is a 72-man field of which there will be a top-50 and ties cut following the first two rounds.
Below, I have featured two of my favorite outright long shot bets to win the Memorial Tournament on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Ryan Gerard (+9600)
Gerard is a terrific value at these long +9600 odds, especially since on some other major sportsbooks, he carries odds as short as +7000. Gerard has made seven straight cuts and is coming off a T10 at the Charles Schwab Challenge last week. Gerard shot under par in 3-of-4 rounds at Colonial — including a 6-under 64 in the first round — and for the event, he ranked first in SGP and 13th in SG APP.
Gerard has gained strokes on approach at six consecutive events and ranks sixth in SG APP this season. His impressive iron play is a great sign for Muirfield Village, as four of the last five winners at this par 72 have finished the event top-12 in SG APP. Gerard finished T23rd in his debut at Muirfield Village last season and now returns 39 spots higher in the world golf rankings.
Gerard won the Barracuda Championship last season and was very close to claiming his second victory earlier this season, posting three runner-up finishes in a row from December to January. Gerard has thrived at Nicklaus designs throughout his career and him contending at Muirfield Village this week isn’t out of the question. Not only does Gerard have the T23 at Muirfield Village on his resume, he has produced a top-25 finish in all three of his starts at the Nicklaus-redesigned PGA National. Gerard finished T4th at the track in 2023, and when we compare this field’s histories at Nicklaus courses, Gerard ranks third in strokes gained per round.
Brandt Snedeker (+46000)
Snedeker is worth a flier at these ridiculous odds. Last year, the veteran finished T7th at the Memorial despite missing three cuts in a row prior to the event. Snedeker now travels back to Muirfield Village 303 spots higher in the world golf rankings, as the 45-year-old is playing some truly inspiring golf.
In his last six starts, Snedeker has finished T18th, T39th, T30th, first, MC and T28th. That win came at the Myrtle Beach Classic last month and snapped a nearly eight-year drought without a win. This marked Snedeker’s 10th victory on the PGA TOUR. During his T28 finish at the Charles Schwab Challenge last week, Snedeker put on a ball-striking clinic, leading the field in SG APP.
Snedeker gained 2.32 strokes on approach, which is a career-high for the journeyman. If this elite ball striking carries over to Muirfield Village, Snedeker could flourish at Jack’s Place.
