What a Game 1 we had in the Stanley Cup Final. Nikolaj Ehlers scored twice in the first period, giving Carolina a 2-0 lead. Vegas stormed back with three straight goals, taking a 3-2 lead. Then, Jordan Staal equalized for the Hurricanes, leaving us tied 3-3 heading into the final period. The teams traded a goal a piece in the third period, before Tomas Hertl scored the winner for Vegas with 3:24 remaining. After all of that, Vegas got the 5-4 win in a thriller to take Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final on the road.
