With that being said, there’s more to this one than meets the eye. Some pitchers thrive early, while others take more time to get settled in than others. Which NRFI picks are worth a closer look today?

Orioles vs. Red Sox NRFI (-135)
In this AL East clash, it’ll be Shane Baz toeing the slab for Baltimore. Since getting traded to the team from Tampa Bay this offseason, it’s been a mixed bag for the fifth-year pro. Through 11 starts this season, he’s recorded a 4.48 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 57 strikeouts (8.0 K/9). However, he comes into this one with momentum. Baz has allowed five earned runs combined over his previous 20.0 innings pitched (2.25 ERA). Tonight’s opponents, the Red Sox, own baseball’s second-lowest YRFI rate on offense (17.24%). In addition, Boston is averaging an MLB-worst 3.21 runs per game at home.
On the other side, it’ll be Connelly Early taking the mound. The rookie has been a bright spot for the last place Red Sox this season. Over 61.0 innings of work, he’s notched a 2.95 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 57 strikeouts. During his most recent appearance, the 24-year-old held a formidable Braves lineup scoreless over seven frames. On paper, Tuesday’s matchup shouldn’t be as difficult. Baltimore owns a league-worst 16.67% YRFI rate. To boot, the Orioles have put up the seventh-worst OPS against left-handed pitching (.652). Early has allowed a first inning run only once over seven career starts at Fenway Park (86% NRFI).
Dodgers vs. Diamondbacks NRFI (+105)
Part of what’s made the Dodgers so successful in recent years is their ability to find hidden gems. Los Angeles is hoping to strike gold yet again with Eric Lauer. The southpaw has struggled for most of 2026, spent primarily in Toronto (5.95 ERA, 1.39 WHIP). However, he’s gotten off to a good start with the defending champs. During his first game in LA, Lauer held the Rockies to one run over six innings. Tonight’s opponent, the Diamondbacks, haven’t scored in the first over their last seven contests. During his last four meetings with Arizona, Lauer owns a 2.38 ERA.
As for the Snakes, it’ll be Mike Soroka making his 12th start of the season. It’s been a terrific campaign from the righty, providing some much-needed stability in this Arizona rotation. Through 61.0 innings, he’s recorded a 3.25 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 60 strikeouts (8.9 K/9). In addition, he’s posted a stellar 79% NRFI rate this season. Tonight’s game against a loaded Los Angeles lineup won’t be easy. With that being said, the Dodgers own a middling 27.59% YRFI rate on the road. At plus money, I’m willing to bet both of these veterans come through this evening in Phoenix.
