Here’s a look at what’s on tap for Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite in Richmond! Tickets for this event are currently available through VCU Tickets.
MJF (c) vs. Rush – AEW World Championship Match
MJF will make his first title defense as AEW World Champion during his third reign. As you know, MJF regained the title after winning the Title vs. Hair match against Darby Allin at Double or Nothing. This will be the second singles match between MJF and Rush in AEW history, with MJF picking up the victory back in 2024 on an episode of Dynamite. Rush is on one hell of a run currently, as he’s only lost one singles match in 2026, which was against Allin. Since returning to ROH in March against BEEF, Rush has been running through the competition.
This will only be the second time that Rush has challenged for the world title, as he did so once before against Jon Moxley back in 2022 at Fight for the Fallen. Despite the run he’s been on, Rush will be 0-2 when challenging for the AEW World Title. That being said, it’s been great having him back on AEW programming regularly. He’s a fantastic talent that, in my opinion, doesn’t get talked about enough on a roster full of stars.

Kevin Knight (c) vs. Speedball Bailey – TNT Championship Match
Coming out of Double or Nothing, there was so much people could talk about. Despite that, plenty of chatter was going around about the shocking conclusion to the MJF vs. Darby Allin match. Knight turned on Darby Allin, delivering a frog splash to a prone Allin, who was strapped to a stretcher. If you’ve been paying attention, Knight gave a subtle warning to Allin, telling him, “Don’t let the Jet down. Don’t let the people down.” On the next episode of Dynamite, Bailey confronted Knight, which resulted in Knight attacking Bailey. Now, these former partners will battle it out on Dynamite for the TNT Championship.
Despite being partners for so long, these two have met in singles competition twice before. Knight has yet to earn a victory over Bailey, losing to him in the NJPW All Star Junior USA Tournament Final and in the 2025 AEW Continental Classic Gold League tournament.
Knight has successfully defended his TNT Championship four times already and has taken down some impressive competition along the way. He, of course, logged the victory against MJF, as well as Hook, Claudio Castagnoli, and, most recently, Brian Cage. This won’t be the last match between Knight and Bailey, but I believe it’ll be the first victory for Knight against Bailey.

Will Ospreay vs. Mark Davis – Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament Semifinal
If anyone but Ospreay wins the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, I’ll be shocked.. As the weeks go on, it feels more and more like we’re building toward Ospreay challenging for the AEW World Title at All In at Wembley. To get there, Ospreay first has to deal with Mark Davis, who is his next competitor in the tournament.
If you recall, Davis was the straw that broke the camel’s back when it came to Ospreay going to the Death Riders. Davis defeated Ospreay on Dynamite by referee stoppage after Davis delivered a devastating piledriver to Ospreay on the ring apron. Ospreay would then go on to start training with the Death Riders, and he’s shown to sport a new killer attitude in the ring. We saw a great example of this at Double or Nothing, when Ospreay got the jump on Samoa Joe before the bell. I expect Ospreay to earn his revenge with a win here, and maybe even do something to Davis after the match to double down.

Alex Windsor vs. Wild Card Mystery Opponent – Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Quarterfinal
Hard to make a prediction when we only have one opponent listed for this match of the Owen Hart Foundation Quarterfinal! There are several opponents this could be for Windsor, and the internet isn’t short on rumors. Naturally, Mercedes Moné would be a fun return, as we haven’t seen her compete in AEW in 2026. Her last match was when she dropped the TBS Championship to Willow Nightingale on December 31. Nightingale just recently vacated the TBS Championship.
Other names that have surfaced include Britt Baker, who hasn’t had a match since November 13, 2024. But, to be fair, her name comes up every single time a mystery opponent is announced. At this rate, it feels less and less likely she’ll return to AEW. Jamie Hayter would be a fun opponent in this spot. While not a “return”, pitting The Brawling Birds against each other would be a fun match, like we’ve seen in the Continental Classic.
