From bona fide stars to stealthy value plays, let’s take a look at three must-starts for Sunday afternoon.

SP Jacob Misiorowski, Milwaukee Brewers at Houston Astros ($11,600)
Simply put, The Miz is awesome. Breakout Brewers ace Jacob Misiorowski enters Sunday afternoon with a microscopic 1.83 ERA through 11 starts (64 IP), fourth-best in MLB. He also paces the majors in strikeouts (100), xERA (2.14), WHIP (0.83), and BAA (.152).
The right-handed fireballer, 24, has surrendered just one earned run across five starts (31.1 IP) in May — that’s a 0.29 ERA. Meanwhile, Misiorowski has recorded at least eight punchouts in each of those starts, reaching double-digits in three outings since the calendar flipped.
Misiorowski looks primed for more smooth sailing in Sunday’s series finale against the injury-riddled Astros. While they’ve won seven of their last 10 contests, they still rank 18th league-wide in wRC+ and 19th in wOBA during that span.
Houston’s recent success has come primarily from the long ball, fueled by MVP candidate Yordan Alvarez. But that shouldn’t be a problem for Misiorowski, who sits just outside of MLB’s top 10 with a 0.56 HR/9.
OF Juan Soto, New York Mets vs. Miami Marlins ($6,100)
Having Juan Soto on the 2026 Mets is like using A5 Wagyu in Hamburger Helper. Amid New York’s collapse, the $765 million man has earned every penny — sporting the top OPS in the National League (.974) with 12 home runs.
Soto, 27, has taken his production to another level over the past few weeks. Since May 12, the lefty slugger is hitting .357 with a 1.223 OPS and an MLB-leading eight home runs. He extended his hitting streak to four games on Saturday, going 1-for-3 with an RBI single, a walk, and a run scored.
Few hitters are more dangerous when they’re in a flow state than Soto, especially with a matchup as favorable as Sunday’s. Miami right-hander Janson Junk is responsible for a swollen 7.00 ERA since the beginning of May and has struggled all season to generate strikeouts and skirt loud contact — Soto’s specialty.
1B Jonathan Aranda, Tampa Bay Rays vs. Los Angeles Angels ($3,800)
Jonathan Aranda has sneakily been one of MLB’s most valuable offensive first basemen — a steal at twice the price! The Rays infielder is hitting .291 this season with an .883 OPS and 10 home runs. His 42 RBIs are tied for sixth in the majors.
Even better, Aranda’s production is Statcast-proof. The lefty-swinging slugger ranks in the 75th percentile in hard-hit rate, barrel rate, and average exit velocity — in other words, he’s tearing the cover off the ball. He also sits in the top 10% of MLB in xwOBA.
Aranda, 28, owns a one-dot OPS in May and enters Sunday on an eight-game hitting streak, with two home runs, seven RBIs, and four multi-hit outings in that span. He should stay hot against Angels right-hander Jack Kochanowicz, who has gotten crushed to the tune of a 7.52 ERA in five starts (26.1 IP) this month.
