Two top-15 Heavyweight contenders, No. 3 Sergei Pavlovich and No. 15 Tallison Teixeira, are facing off in a three-round contest at the UFC’s Fight Night in Macau. Teixeira began his MMA career 8-0 With eight first-round finishes and couldn’t have been more dominant. But since he has struggled with tougher competition. Teixeira suffered a first-round knockout loss to Derrick Lewis and beat Tai Tuivasa by decision in his previous two bouts.
After losing back-to-back fights, Pavlovich bounced back and went 2-0 in 2025 with wins over Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Jairzinho Rozenstruik. Although Pavlovich has won two straight, his previous three contests have gone the distance, and we haven’t seen the aggressive version of himself lately. From April 2019 to April 2023, Pavlovich won six consecutive bouts by first-round knockout and appeared to be one of the most dangerous strikers in the sport.
In this contest, Pavlovich is a big -625 favorite while Teixeira is a +455 underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook. Pavlovich’s last three fights have gone to a decision, and he hasn’t scored a first-round finish since April 2023. Teixeira is coming off a three-round decision win over Tai Tuivasa. Since both fighters showed a lack of urgency in their previous fight, I’m taking this contest to go over 1.5 rounds at +135.
