After four games, the Eastern Conference Final is now on the verge of ending. The Carolina Hurricanes are now only one win away from punching a ticket to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time in two decades. Jakub Dobes over 29.5 saves (-105)
It’s a bit bold to take a netminder for over 29.5 saves, but I do love a good goalie prop more than most. Jakub Dobes has largely been quite good in the Stanley Cup Playoffs with a .912 SV% and 2.53 GAA, which are particularly impressive in light of this being his first full postseason in net for Montreal. At 25 years old, he’ll only get better from here. In this series, he’s faced some truly wild shot volume from a Carolina roster that ranks first among playoff teams with 34.0 shots on goal per game, also ranking second in the regular season with 32.2. Over the last two games of this series, the Canes have put 39 and 43 pucks on net. If they come anywhere near those marks again, Dobes can comfortably exceed this line tonight. He proved he can handle it last round against Buffalo with a pair of contests with 30+ saves, so he’s now done it four times in these playoffs.
Logan Stankoven over 2.5 shots on goal (-115)
The breakout party for Logan Stankoven got back underway in Game 4 of this series. The 5-foot-8 forward was very quiet over the first three outings with just four shots on goal and no points, but he got back on the board last time out. The former Dallas Star put a whopping seven pucks on the net and connected on one for a goal, tying for the team lead in shots on goal (42) and increasing his postseason tally to eight goals, another team high. We’re watching Stankoven blossom before our very eyes at the moment, and after breaking the ice in his most recent outing, another big game could be on the horizon. He’s averaging 3.5 shots on goal per game in the Stanley Cup Playoffs and has gone over 2.5 shots in seven of his 12 appearances. With the Hurricanes still putting a ton of pucks on net and now getting their way against the Canadiens’ defense, Stankoven can easily notch three on Friday night.
