MLB Prop Bets Breakdown (May 28, 2026)

Los Angeles Angels – Detroit Tigers over 4.5 runs through first five innings (-120)
We could see a lot of early offense in this Angels-Tigers game. Grayson Rodriguez will oppose Jack Flaherty, and neither starter has found much success this season. Rodriguez has only made two starts but has been walloped in both, allowing 11 runs on 14 hits with six walks through 9.1 innings. It’s been justified as well, as his 10.61 ERA comes with an xERA of 8.25.
Flaherty has struggled throughout the year with no end in sight. Through 47 innings, he has a 5.94 ERA with an xERA of 5.03 and a career-high 5.5 BB/9. Lefties, in particular, have been the sore spot for Flaherty. They’ve tagged him for a .391 wOBA with a 5.75 FIP and 20 of the 29 walks he’s issued. Over his last six starts, Flaherty has allowed at least three earned runs in five of them.
Given all of this, I think we’ll see plenty of early offense and see this game total go over five runs through the first five innings.
Gunnar Henderson 2+ Total Bases (+130) vs. Toronto Blue Jays
Henderson has been hitting for a lot of power this season. On the year, he has an overall ISO of .218 and a .299 ISO against lefties, which is the matchup he has tonight. Patrick Corbin will take the mound, and he’s a prime regression candidate. He sports a 3.86 ERA with an xERA of 5.37. Corbin is allowing a lot of hard contact at 43% and an 8.5% barrel rate. With his lowest K/9 of his career, Corbin is allowing a ton of contact to opposing hitters. Even with the left-on-left matchup, this feels like a sneaky spot for Henderson to record at least two total bases at +130.

Colin Rea under 16.5 outs recorded (-101) vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
This is a tough matchup for Rea tonight against the Pirates. They’re an excellent hitting ballclub against the four-seam fastball, which dominates Rea’s pitch arsenal. He’s throwing that pitch 45% of the time. Tonight’s expected lineup for the Pirates combines for a .343 wOBA and a .173 ISO against it. Rea also has poor numbers against lefties, and the Pirates have a number of them, especially near the top of the lineup. The Pirates will likely have at least five lefties starting, including four of their first five hitters. TFor this bet to cash, Rea needs to stay under 5.2 innings pitched, a total he’s been under in six of his eight starts.
