Kyle Schwarber 1+ Home Run (+239): The public likes Schwarber in the early game as his Phillies host the Guardians at 6:40 p.m. ET. The lefty leads the majors with 20 homers this season, and 13 of those blasts have come at home. Schwarber went 0-for-5 last Sunday and sat out Monday through Wednesday due to illness. Before that, though, he had nine long balls in his last 10 games. He has a .651 ISO and 60% hard hit rate in those 10 games with a 44% barrel rate. He’ll be taking on righty Gavin Williams if the rain holds off, and Williams has allowed nine homers in 10 starts this season, including six in his five road starts. Lefties have seven of those nine homers against him and a .304 wOBA.
Aaron Judge 1+ Home Run (+205): Judge and the Yankees are also at home on Friday, and Judge will face Nick Martinez. While Martinez has been a nice comeback story overall this year, he has a 4.97 ERA and 5.14 FIP on the road, where he has allowed six homers in 29 innings. Lefties actually have stronger numbers against him, but the public is ignoring that split and still taking Judge, since the Yankees slugger has 16 dingers on the year, the third-most in the majors. Judge is in a 10-game home run draught and only has a 38.5% hard hit rate during that span, but the public likes his chances of getting back on track against Martinez, especially since nine of Judge’s 16 homers have been at home, and 11 of his 16 homers have come against righties.
Munetaka Murakami 1+ Home Run (+404): In the latest game of the night, Murakami and the White Sox visit the Giants and rookie Trevor McDonald. McDonald has been good overall, going 2-0 with a 2.37 ERA and 3.47 FIP, but he has allowed two homers to lefties like Murakami. Murakami has hit 17 homers this year, trailing only Schwarber for the MLB lead. He has hit 13 of his 17 homers off righties and 10 of his 17 homers in his 25 road games. He hasn’t homered in his last four games, but hit a pair of home runs last Saturday. He’ll look to get back on board the home run train on Friday night, and he brings nice value at odds over +400.
