Toronto Blue Jays over 3.5 runs (-120) vs. New York Yankees

Carlos Rodon is set to make his third start of the season, and at least to this point, he hasn’t looked all that impressive. Sure, it’s only eight innings, but there are already some concerns with Rodon. His command has been abysmal. He’s already issued eight walks, giving him a BB/9 of 9. That isn’t a good stat to have when tonight’s expected lineup has a 11.3% BB% against lefties. The Blue Jays are also very good against Rodon’s two main pitches, a four-seam fastball and a slider. Dating back to last season, they have a .353 wOBA and a .187 ISO against the four-seam and a .363 wOBA with a .199 ISO against the slider. I think this is a sneaky spot for the Blue Jays to go over their team total against Rodon and a shaky Yankees bullpen.

Brandon Lowe 2+ H/R/RBI (-107) vs. St. Louis Cardinals

Dustin May is scheduled to take the mound for the Cardinals this afternoon. He’s been better since getting wrecked in his first two starts, but still owns a 4.81 ERA with an xERA of 4.43. His biggest issue has been lefties, as they’ve tagged him for a .397 wOBA, a 4.96 FIP, and a 40% hard-hit rate. Lowe should be near the top of the Pirates’ lineup and has fantastic numbers against righties. He owns a .430 wOBA with a .339 ISO and nine of the 12 home runs he’s hit. Against May’s main pitch, a cutter, Lowe has a .455 wOBA and a .302 ISO.

Sandy Alcantara under 4.5 strikeouts (+105) vs. Atlanta Braves

The Braves are a tough team to strikeout. Against righties, they have a 21% K% as a team, which ranks 21st in the league. Tonight’s expected lineup is a bit lower at 20.4%, putting Alcantara in a matchup where strikeouts will likely be tough to come by. His strikeout numbers continue to dwindle every season, and he’s currently down to a 6.3 K/9, which is a career low. Tonight’s lineup for the Braves features five hitters with a sub 20% K% against righties, making this a difficult matchup for Alcantara to rack up strikeouts
