Thursday’s slate features a full schedule of games, highlighted by Gerrit Cole making his long-awaited return for the Yankees, Kevin Gausman continuing his strong stretch for Toronto, and Spencer Arrighetti looking to sustain his breakout run for Houston against the Cubs.

Houston Astros vs. Chicago Cubs Probable Pitchers

  • Houston Astros: Spencer Arrighetti
  • Chicago Cubs: Jameson Taillon
  • Time: 2:20 PM ET

Arrighetti is a major regression candidate, with a 1.50 ERA and an xERA of 4.91. After allowing 24 home runs in 129.2 innings last season, Taillon has already allowed 16 through 50.2.

Cleveland Guardians vs. Philadelphia Phillies Probable Pitchers

  • Philadelphia Phillies: Cristopher Sanchez

Williams currently owns the highest K/9 of his career at 10.7 through 61.1 innings. Sanchez is also in the same boat, while posting a career-high 11.1 K/9 through 64.1 innings.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Cincinnati Reds Probable Pitchers

  • Cincinnati Reds: Chris Paddack
  • Time: 6:40 PM ET

Leahy is another regression candidate, owner of a 3.94 ERA with an xERA of 6.17 and a 4.94 FIP. In his Reds debut, Paddack allowed two runs on six hits with three strikeouts through five innings.

Detroit Tigers vs. Baltimore Orioles Probable Pitchers

  • Detroit Tigers: Jack Flaherty
  • Baltimore Orioles: Chris Bassitt
  • Time: 7:05 PM ET

Flaherty continues to struggle with his command with a 5.9 BB/9. Bassitt has allowed at least four earned runs in five of his eight starts this season.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. New York Yankees Probable Pitchers

  • Tampa Bay Rays: Nick Martinez
  • New York Yankees: Gerrit Cole
  • Time: 7:05 PM ET

In his prior start against the Yankees, Martinez allowed only one run on five hits with four strikeouts through 4.2 innings. Cole will be making his first major league start since September 26, 2024, after recovering from Tommy John surgery.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Toronto Blue Jays Probable Pitchers

Chandler has walked at least four batters in five of his nine starts this season. Gausman tossed six shutout innings in his last start against the Tigers with five strikeouts.

Minnesota Twins vs. Boston Red Sox Probable Pitchers

  • Boston Red Sox: Payton Tolle

Since joining the rotation, Prielipp has a 2.88 ERA with an xERA of 3.06 and a 10.4 K/9. Tolle has a 2.05 ERA with an xERA of 2.44 and an 8.8 K/9 through 30.2 innings.

New York Mets vs. Miami Marlins Probable Pitchers

  • New York Mets: Freddy Peralta
  • Miami Marlins: Eury Perez
  • Time: 7:10 PM ET

Peralta’s current 8.9 K/9 is the lowest of his career. Perez continues to struggle on the mound and has allowed at least four earned runs in three of his last five starts.

Washington Nationals vs. Atlanta Braves Probable Pitchers

  • Washington Nationals: Miles Mikolas
  • Atlanta Braves: Bryce Elder
  • Time: 7:15 PM ET

As a starter, Mikolas has an 8.28 ERA with a .376 wOBA and a 2.5 HR/9. Elder went a season-high eight innings in his last start against the Red Sox, allowing three runs on seven hits with three strikeouts.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Milwaukee Brewers Probable Pitchers

  • Milwaukee Brewers: Logan Henderson

Wrobleski has been very strong against righties with a .233 wOBA, a 2.81 FIP, and zero home runs allowed. Through four starts, Henderson has a 3.50 ERA with an xERA of 2.94 and an 11.5 K/9.

Seattle Mariners vs. Kansas City Royals Probable Pitchers

  • Kansas City Royals: Noah Cameron

Gilbert has been his best on the road, sporting a 1.59 ERA with a 2.11 FIP. Cameron has allowed at least three earned run in six straight starts.

Texas Rangers vs. Los Angeles Angels Probable Pitchers

  • Los Angeles Angels: Grayson Rodriguez

deGrom has allowed at least four earned runs in two of his last three starts. In his season debut, Grayson allowed seven runs on seven hits through 3.2 innings against the Dodgers.

Athletics vs. San Diego Padres Probable Pitchers

Buehler has been much better at home, sporting a 3.16 ERA with a .250 wOBA and a 3.50 FIP.

Sugano owns a 4.02 ERA with an xERA of 7.22 and a 5.49 FIP. Soroka currently owns a 10.1 K/9, the highest of his career.
