The Spurs will visit the Thunder at 8:30 PM EST for Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals after stealing Game 1.

This article will look at my top Pick6 plays for tonight’s slate. We simply choose whether a player will record more or less of the set statistic. Here are my favorite plays for tonight’s action.
Victor Wembanyama More Than 13.5 Rebounds
After recording 15+ rebounds in four out of six games against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Wembanyama absolutely dominated the glass with 24 rebounds (nine offensive) in an absolute classic double overtime thriller upset win against the Thunder. OKC clearly struggled with the boards as they have been all season. Their inability to control the glass was one of the reasons why they lost the game, and I’m expecting this to continue tonight.
The Thunder have the option of putting in one of their best rebounders in Isaiah Hartenstein, who only saw 12 minutes of game time in Game 1. They elected to put Alex Caruso on Wembanyama, a strategy similar to how they like to deal with other top tier centers like Nikola Jokic, because Caruso’s quick hands and high defensive IQ combined with some referee leeway in the David v. Goliath matchup which allows him to get away with some questionable contact usually helps stymie centers. But Wemby is no ordinary center, and if the Thunder continue with this same coverage, we can expect massive rebounding numbers from Wemby to continue. If they opt to use Chet Holmgren or Hartenstein, it’ll help their rebounding, but Wemby will be able to drag them out of the paint, neutralizing their rim protection. Begun, the Wemby dilemma has.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander More Than 28.5 Points
While I’m not expecting an efficient shooting night from SGA, it should still be better than what we got in Game 1. We saw Gilgeous-Alexander continuously hounded by on-ball defenders such as Stephon Castle, Dylan Harper, and Carter Bryant. The result was an ugly 5/23 shooting night with only 24 points in 51 minutes of play.
Gilgeous-Alexander will likely shoot better than 30.4% from the field, but it won’t be the hyper-efficient night like he’s used to. Wemby’s rim protection makes things challenging for him to get into the paint, but due to SGA’s sheer volume (I’m expecting 20+ FGA once again), it’ll be tough to hold him to a sub 29 point night again.
Dylan Harper More Than 11.5 Points
Harper was spectacular in Game 1, delivering 24 points with 11 rebounds and seven steals. He stepped up big time for the injured De’Aaron Fox, who may return for tonight’s contest. Regardless of Fox’s availability, Harper figures to have a big role tonight given how well he’s been playing this postseason. He’s a luxury for the Spurs as a secondary or tertiary creator while being able to interrupt passing lanes. If this game is close again down the stretch, the Spurs will lean on the rookie once again.
