Bryan Woo, Seattle Mariners vs. Chicago White Sox ($9,000) — The strikeout rate is down while the ERA is a full run higher than the past two seasons. In addition, the normal consistency has dissipated with three games under 10 FPTS and a low of -10.6 FPTS. That said, Woo has been a little unlucky with a 64.4% strand rate and the 3.47 FIP is consistent with the past two seasons. The last two starts have been vintage Woo – 27.9 and 33.7 FPTS. Now he gets to face a White Sox team that is fourth in strikeouts.

J.T. Ginn, Athletics at Los Angeles Angels ($7,500) — Ginn is pretty meh with a 4.2 FIP, 19.4% strikeout rate and 10.3% K-BB%. Nine of 10 starts have resulted with fewer than 20 FPTS, including four starts under 10. The one ceiling game was 33 FPTS against Philadelphia when he went eight innings, allowed one earned run and struck out eight. Now he faces an Angels team that is first in strikeout rate, 20th in wOBA and 19th in wRC+.

Paul Goldschmidt, New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays ($4,000) — Even at age 38, Goldschmidt is still slashing .277/.373/.554 with a .277 ISO. The walk rate is 10.7% with a 21.3% strikeout rate. Against left-handed pitching, the wRC+ is 190 while the ISO is a whopping .361. Patrick Corbin has a 4.81 FIP and 4.2% K-BB% while all three home runs allowed have come off the bat of a righty. Goldschmidt has put up double-digit FPTS in four of the last six games.

Bryce Eldridge, San Francisco Giants at Arizona Diamondbacks ($2,400) — Eldridge has struggled to start the season, as the strikeout rate is 33.3% with a .083/.185/.208 slash. The ISO is only .125 and he has one home run. He has been unlucky with a .071 BABIP, but the big issue is the lack of playing time, as he’s only racked up 27 plate appearances as the Giants haven’t played him every day. He’s sat for two games and I’m thinking he gets the nod at DH for this one. He’s always had a strikeout issue but the power is legit. Zac Gallen has a paltry 7.8% K-BB% with a 90.6 mph average exit velocity and 10.1% barrel rate. Against lefties, the K-BB% is 5%.
OUTFIELD

Ian Happ, Chicago Cubs vs. Milwaukee Brewers ($4,200) — Happ is only slashing .235/.374/.469 with a 31.3% strikeout rate. The walk rate is 17.2%, though, while the ISO is .235. That’s translated to 10 home runs, 35 runs, 20 RBI and two stolen bases. Against right-handed pitching, Happ has a 160 wRC+ this season with a .243 ISO. Seven of the 10 home runs have come off a righty. Brandon Sproat has a 5.73 FIP. Against lefties, the FIP is 6.8 while the K-BB% is only 3.9%.

Drew Gilbert, San Francisco Giants at Arizona Diamondbacks ($2,700) — Against right-handed pitching, Gilbert has a 131 wRC+ and a .161 ISO. The slash is .290/.362/.452 with an 8.7% walk rate and 18.8% strikeout rate. Both home runs have come off a righty. I went over Gallen’s struggles with righties in the Eldridge section.
