NBA Best Bets: Top Same Game Parlay for Pistons vs. Cavaliers Game 6

Tonight, DraftKings Sportsbook is offering an amazing new promotion called NBA Putback for the postseason. Opt in and create a player points milestone same game parlay (SGP) for this tilt between the Pistons and the Cavaliers with your single-use Profit Boost Token. If your bet loses, but your players collectively reach or exceed the combined milestone, receive a Bonus Bet equal to 2x your stake! The only catch? The parlay must be at least three legs with odds of at least -300 or longer per leg.

Seems simple enough, right? So simple I think I’ll whip one up right now for Game 6, which starts at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Pistons vs. Cavaliers Game 6 Parlay

  • Donovan Mitchell 25+ Points (-185)
  • James Harden 20+ Points (-119)
  • Tobias Harris 15+ Points (-237)

So, under the perimeters of the NBA Putback promo, if these three players combine for 60 points on Friday night, we’ll be eligible for a bonus bet worth 2x our initial stake. Or, you know, each leg of the parlay could just hit — that’s possible, too!

Allow me to explain my thinking. Both Donovan Mitchell and James Harden have been annoyingly inconsistent throughout these playoffs, yet the Cavaliers have usually been able to rely on at least one to have a big offensive performance. Game 5 was a great example of this. Mitchell’s three-point shot was not falling, and the All-Star was limited to 21 points on 38.9% shooting. However, Harden fought through his own underwhelming efficiency to finish the comeback win with 30 points.

There’s simply too much shot volume and usage between these two for points to not be part of the equation. Heck, Mitchell’s averaging 29.9 field goal attempts per 100 possessions in the postseason. That’s the highest mark in the league. As such, the duo of Mtchell and Harden have combined for at least 40 points in eight straight contests. They’ve actually combined for at least 45 points in four of the five matchups in this series against Detroit, with Game 2 being the outlier. Mitchell dropped 31 points, while Harden managed only 10. Yet another example of at least one of Cleveland’s high-priced guards picking up the other’s slack. Together, and in the context of the Putback promo, they provide so much floor and safety.

As for Tobias Harris, the veteran wing has clearly stepped up his game in the postseason, and the Pistons have desperately needed the scoring help outside of Cade Cunningham. To wit, Harris is producing 20.2 points per contest with a 23.8% usage rate, this after averaging just 13.3 points per game with a modest 18.8% usage rate throughout the regular season. I would struggle to even call Harris a “secondary” scoring option at the moment. It’s him, Cade, and everyone else, as he and the former first-overall pick are the only two men on Detroit’s roster taking double-digit shot attempts per contest. With the team’s back against the wall in Game 6, I’d also expect Harris to be flirting with logging over 40 minutes of action.
