Best anytime goal scorer props for Wednesday 5/13/26
Cale Makar anytime goal scorer (+320)
The Avalanche have gotten goals from just about everyone this series, but it’s tough not to go back to the well sometimes. Cale Makar remains the best offensive talent among all NHL defensemen (though Quinn Hughes is right behind him) and I’d be remiss to not include him as a goal scorer tonight. He notched two goals in the opening game against the Wild but hasn’t scored since, so I like him to change that here at Ball Arena. He’s notched at least three shots on goal in three of the four games in this series as well as in seven of his eight appearances this postseason. The shot volume looks great for a blueliner and after scoring twice in the opening round as well, his grand total is up to four goals in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. That makes him the second-highest goal scorer among Colorado skaters this postseason. Given his ability to put the puck in the net, I like him to light the lamp this evening at +320 odds.
Nazem Kadri anytime goal scorer (+245)
One player rising to the occasion for the Avs in the second round is trade-deadline acquisition Nazem Kadri. Traded from the Calgary Flames in return for an absolute haul that included Victor Olofsson, a prospect, and a first and second-round pick, the forward is making an impact in what’s actually his second stint with the Avalanche after winning a Stanley Cup with them in 2022. Kadri didn’t score in the first round of this postseason run but has been lethal against the Wild, scoring a pair of goals with one in Game 1 and one in Game 4. It may not sound like much, but look at the shot volume — he’s racked up 20 shots on goal in four contests, putting at least three pucks on net in every game of this series. That’s a recipe for success, and despite shooting only 7.5% overall in the regular season, he finished at a 10.5% clip in his sample with the Avs. An 8.3% shooting percentage this postseason could tick upwards a smidge more to match if he keeps up this kind of volume.
