It was a rare down night for the Yankees (26-13) on Friday, courtesy of Jacob Misiorowski. Milwaukee’s fireballing phenom shut down New York over six scoreless innings en route to a 6-0 victory. Now, the Pinstripes will attempt to bounce back with a standout starting pitcher of their own in Cam Schlittler. Can the Brewers (20-16) clinch a series win tonight?
The Yankees are favorites (-136) over the Brewers, with the over/under set at 7.5 runs. Below, I’ve laid out my preview, prediction, and best bet for Saturday’s showdown between New York and Milwaukee on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Yankees vs. Brewers prediction, preview
The headliner in this one is Schlittler, and for good reason. After emerging as a difference-maker last season, the 25-year-old has established himself as one of baseball’s top arms. Through 47.1 innings in 2026, he’s posted an MLB-best 1.52 ERA along with an 0.87 WHIP and 53 strikeouts. Schlittler has allowed more than one earned run in just two of his eight starts so far. To boot, he has a sparkling 1.17 ERA over five outings on the road. Much like Misiorowski, the big right-hander throws absolute gas as well.
Granted, navigating a scrappy Brewers lineup might prove difficult. After all, no team has scored more runs over their last ten games (60). Still, this offense has had some difficulty against pitchers that can turn up the heat. Schlittler utilizes either a fastball or sinker on nearly two-thirds of his pitches (64%). Milwaukee has a combined .221 batting average this season against those two offerings. It’s also worth noting that three-time All-Star Christian Yelich (groin) remains sidelined.
For the home team, Kyle Harrison will get the nod. After brief stops in San Francisco and Boston, the 24-year-old appears to have found a home in Wisconsin. Over 29.2 innings of work, the southpaw has notched a 2.12 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 35 strikeouts. That isn’t a massive sample size, but it’s certainly promising for the former top prospect. Harrison hasn’t surrendered more than two earned runs in any of his six appearances so far. Several of those outings came against above-average lineups, such as the Nationals, Pirates and Rays.
With that being said, the Yankees present the most formidable challenge of the season for Harrison. Aaron Judge and company aren’t just loaded with star power. This group is pacing the entire American League with a .782 OPS against left-handed pitching. To boot, New York’s three best hitters have an OPS above .900 vs. southpaws: Ben Rice (1.283), Judge (1.072) and Cody Bellinger (.990). Harrison utilizes a fastball on nearly 60% of his pitches, usually topping out at just under 95 MPH. Against pitches at that speed or slower, the Yankees own an MLB-best .390 wOBA this season.
Yankees vs. Brewers pick, best bet
After yesterday’s horrific offensive performance, the Yankees will be eager to face anyone not named Misiorowski. Harrison is a key cog in Milwaukee’s rotation, but his 4.23 career FIP suggests some regression is likely. A New York lineup that does well against southpaws doesn’t make for an ideal matchup. With Schlittler on the bump as well, I’ll back the visitors tonight.
