DraftKings has a new promotion in May. It’s the MLB Grand Slam Payout.
The concept is simple. Opt-in and get a MLB Grand Slam Payout token. Use that token on a single wager or for a parlay on a player to hit a home run, and if that home runs ends up being a grand slam, receive a share of $250,000 in bonus bets — or more! Emphasis on the “and more” part of that sentence. We’re three days into the month, and with zero grand slams hit to this point, the prize pool for the promotion is now up to a cool $1 million!
That begs the question: Who is hitting a grand slam tonight? Well, as always, I have my predictions and my leans. Let’s break a couple picks down.
MLB Grand Slam Payout Picks
Michael Busch, Cubs
There’s two big factors when it comes to backing Busch on Monday night. First and foremost, the wind will be gusting out of Wrigley Field tonight, which should mean some crooked numbers on the scoreboard. Don’t believe me? Look no further than the 11.5-run game total this tilt has on the DraftKings Sportsbook. That’s the highest total on the slate — and there’s a contest taking place at Coors Field.
Secondly, we have to factor in the presence of rookie Chase Petty, who will be making his 2026 debut for the Reds. Petty threw six innings for Cincinnati in 2026 across three appearances. Those six innings did not go well. Petty’s 19.50 ERA is obviously some small sample nonsense, but a 3.67 WHIP does tell the tale of a pitcher who was dealing with a ton of traffic. To wit, the RHP allowed 14 hits and walked eight. He also surrendered a pair of three-run home runs and a bases loaded double. That’s about as hard as you can flirt with a grand slam without actually giving one up.
As for Busch, the first baseman is heating up after a cold start to 2026. In his last 52 plate appearances, Busch is slashing .302/.404/.605 with eight extra-base hits and a 178 wRC+.
Junior Caminero, Rays
We all know that Caminero can hit home runs. He’s got 54 of them since the beginning of 2025, which is the fifth-most of any player in MLB. The question as it pertains to this promo is whether or not the Rays can load the bases for their All-Star. On Monday, I think the presence of Eric Lauer will help with that.
Lauer’s battled illness and injury since opening his season with a fantastic start against the Athletics. The results of those battles have not been kind to the veteran lefty. In his last five appearances, Lauer has pitched to a 6.65 ERA and a 7.39 FIP. He’s walked more opponents (12) than he’s struck out (11) in this 21.2 inning sample, and he’s also allowed a whopping 2.49 home runs per nine. I don’t think that last part is an issue that’s going away any time soon, either. Among the 157 pitchers who have thrown at least 20 innings in 2026, Lauer’s 57.0% fly ball rate ranks second-highest. He’s a launch angle machine with fifth percentile average fastball velocity (90.4). Needless to say, that’s a bad combo in his profession.

- Place a Single, Parlay, or SGP bet on a player to hit a home run and if their home run is a grand slam, receive a share of $250,000 in Bonus Bets! (minimum $5 bet, maximum three legs for a parlay)
- If the player in your qualifying bet hits a grand slam you’ll win a share of $250,000 in Bonus Bets.
- If no grand slams are hit, the bonus prize pool will carry over to the next day the Promotion is offered.
