Opening odds for Spurs vs. Timberwolves 2026 NBA playoffs second-round series

The sixth seeded Minnesota Timberwolves upset the third seeded Denver Nuggets in thrilling and dramatic fashion. Minnesota will move on to the next round and will face the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Semifinals. Game 1 will tip off on Monday, May 4th.

Thunder vs. Suns Opening Odds

The Spurs are favorites to win the series at -2000, while the Timberwolves are underdogs to advance at +950 on DraftKings Sportsbook.

While these odds appear lopsided at first, it’s not particularly surprising, as Minnesota will likely be without their best player in Anthony Edwards for the rest of this postseason run. Edwards is slated to miss multiple weeks at minimum due to a bone bruise and left knee hyperextension he incurred in game 4 against the Nuggets after landing awkwardly. There’s no structural damage, thankfully, but the Timberwolves will be forced to trudge into the thick of battle against a fearsome Spurs team without their main offensive weapon.

The Spurs will likely be at full strength. They lost star DPOY phenom Victor Wembanyama for a little bit in the first round due to a concussion, but he should be ready to go for this second round series in his first-ever postseason.

San Antonio currently holds the third best net-rating of the postseason so far with +14.3. They’re posting 116 OFFRTG (3rd in postseason) and 102.2 DEFRTG (1st in postseason). Minnesota holds the fifth best net-rating of the postseason with +4.5. They’re posting 112.8 OFFRTG (7th in postseason) and 108.2 DEFRTG (6th in postseason).

The Timberwolves won the season series 2-1.
