Saturday Night Live returns this weekend with a first-time host pulling double duty.
Pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo headlines SNL on May 2, doubling as the show’s musical guest.
The three-time Grammy winner hits the stage ahead of her highly anticipated third studio album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, set to release on June 12.
While it’s her first time hosting, Rodrigo is no stranger to Studio 8H. The “drivers license” and “good 4 u” singer has performed twice as a musical guest, both in Season 46 (2021) and Season 49 (2023).
Remarkably, Rodrigo’s SNL debut marked just the second-ever performance of her career, she recalled on The Kelly Clarkson Show ahead of her second turn on the show two years later.
She went on to make her SNL sketch debut in Season 49, appearing alongside cast members Ego Nwodim and Marcello Hernandez, and host Adam Driver in “Tiny A** Bag.”
Rodrigo will become the third host to wear both hats in Season 51, joining Sabrina Carpenter (Oct. 18) and Harry Styles (March 14). Her episode is also the third-to-last of the season, followed by Matt Damon / Noah Kahan and Will Ferrell / Paul McCartney.
Along with hits from SOUR and GUTS, viewers can expect Rodrigo to perform her upcoming project’s lead single, “drop dead,” which dropped on April 17.
Rodrigo announced on Thursday that her upcoming “Unraveled Tour” will kick off in late September.
