Lakers at Rockets Same Game Parlay:

  • Deandre Ayton 9+ Rebounds
  • Alperen Sengun 6+ Assists
  • Amen Thompson 25+ Points & Rebounds
  • LeBron James 2+ Three Pointers Made

Deandre Ayton to Record 9+ Rebounds (-116)

Rebounding was a major point of emphasis coming into the series for both teams. The Rockets led the NBA in rebounds per game and were second in rebounds allowed across the regular season, while this was a weakness for this Lakers team. To his credit, Deandre Ayton has answered this call in the series. After averaging 8.0 rebounds per game across the regular season, the former No. 1 pick is pulling in 9.8 boards across the first five games. Ayton is coming off a monstrous 17-rebound performance in the previous matchup, and this will remain a point of emphasis. The Rockets have a massive frontcourt that all attack the basket with ferocity. Ayton’s 7-foot frame is required to slow this down. Expect the Arizona product to remain active and headline the rebounding effort with at least nine boards tonight. The rebounding battle is directly correlated to what the game’s results will be, so count on Ayton being tasked with leading the charge once again.

Alperen Sengun to Record 6+ Assists (-149)

The Rockets have been limited by their lack of point guard play all season. Alperen Sengun leads the playmaking effort, averaging 6.2 assists per game across the regular season and 5.4 assists through the first five games in this series. The two-time All-Star has tallied assist totals of six, five, six, two, and eight. Houston does not have another player who is capable of creating advantages and generating clean looks at the level that Sengun can. Expect Houston to continue making it a priority to allow him to serve as the lead decisionmaker in the offense and make it a point of emphasis to cut off-ball to generate these looks. Sengun is averaging 21.0 points per game himself and has been difficult for the Lakers to slow down. If Los Angeles begins to overcorrect by throwing double teams his way, this will only make the pathway clearer to Sengun producing assists. He has reached this tally in three of the five games thus far, and it has led to some of the Rockets’ best overall offense. Count on them leaning on his playmaking at a high rate again tonight and for Sengun to clear the six-assist total.

Amen Thompson to Record 25+ Points & Rebounds (-156)

One of the biggest beneficiaries of Sengun’s playmaking is Amen Thompson. While the jump shot is still a work in progress, the 23-year-old has athleticism that pops off the screen and has not been shy to take on additional offensive responsibilities following the injury to Kevin Durant. Across the opening five games in this series, Thompson is averaging 19.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 6.2 assists. He also is leading the NBA in minutes across this playoff run and sees plenty of opportunities to make his impact felt in the box score. The Overtime Elite product tallied as many as 37 combined points and rebounds in this series and has tallied 25+ in two of his last three. Thompson’s confidence only seems to be growing and his vertical pop stands out against a Lakers team that is largely underwhelming athletically. Count on his work rate continuing to translate to production with put-back dunks and off-ball cuts at a premium. Houston needs the former All-Defensive Team member to make his presence felt on the offensive end. Count on him delivering with 25+ combined points and rebounds tonight.

LeBron James to Record 2+ Made Three-Pointers (+108)

The role of LeBron James has shifted a bit following the return of Austin Reaves, but one area where there is value is in the three-point production. James has improved drastically as a three-point shooter since coming into the league, but is shooting just 28.0% from deep in this series. He has shot 1-for-2, 2-for-5, 4-for-9, 0-for-3, and 0-for-6 across the first five games in this series. Reaves’ return is a big deal to the Lakers’ offensive attack and James will see more relief moving forward. Even more noteworthy, Houston makes a clear effort to pack the paint and make life hard on the perimeter. While the 22-time All-Star is still capable of getting downhill and attacking the basket when he chooses, he picks his spots more than has been the case for most of his career. Expect a desperate effort from the Rockets to keep their season alive and for there to be plenty of physicality being put on display. Count on James being completely comfortable pulling up from deep and benefitting from some positive shooting regression to knock down a pair of three-pointers tonight.
