Jake Knapp withdraws from Cadillac Championship

Knapp has withdrawn from the Cadillac Championship ahead of his first-round tee time Thursday due to a left thumb sprain. Krisoffer Reitan will replace Knapp in the field and tee off at 12:35 p.m. ET.

There were reports of Knapp holding his wrist during practice rounds at the Blue Monster Course this week, so his withdrawal isn’t surprising. However, some people didn’t see these reports or they weren’t concerned about the injury, as Knapp was 10.1% owned in the $750K Sand Trap on DraftKings. The 31-year-old also was the fourth-most bet golfer to win the Cadillac Championship on DraftKings Sportsbook as of yesterday afternoon.

Knapp has had a great season, finishing T11th or better in seven of his nine starts and his next chance to compete will be at next week’s Truist Championship at Quail Hollow, which is the PGA TOUR’s sixth of eight Signature Events this season.
