New York is a -122 moneyline favorite, while Texas is +102 on DraftKings Sportsbook. The game total is set at over/under 7.5 runs.
Let’s get into a pick and prediction for this Yankees vs. Rangers game.
Yankees vs. Rangers prediction, preview
The second game of this three game series features the future and the past on the mound. There’s arguments that both starters qualify as the present, too. Cam Schlittler is starting for New York, while Jacob deGrom gets the ball for Texas. Both are having excellent 2026 campaigns.
Schlittler is building off his breakout 2025 playoff run with yet another stellar performance against the Red Sox. He allowed one earned run and four hits across eight frames in his last outing, and is down to a 1.77 ERA, which ranks fourth in the majors. He’s allowed three earned runs in two games, but he’s only given up one home run and four walks through 35.2 innings and six starts.
deGrom, 37, doesn’t pitch as deep into games. He’s making his sixth start on Tuesday, one less than Schlittler, but he’s also only thrown 25.1 innings this season. His longest outing was six frames against the Dodgers, but every other start lasted no more than 5.2 innings. Despite this, deGrom still has strikeout stuff, racking up 35 punch outs. That makes him valuable against the Yankees who rank seventh in total strikeouts and eighth in strikeout percentage.
That said, the Yankees are hot. They’ve won nine of their last 10 games including Monday’s series opener. Meanwhile, the Rangers have lost three of their last four games.
Yankees vs. Rangers Pick, Best Bet
Although deGrom’s 2.13 ERA and top-notch strikeout ability can cause trouble for New York, the Yankees have been playing so well lately. Additionally, the Yankees have one of their best starters on the mound.
Home-field advantage won’t matter in this one. Yankees win outright.
