Schlittler is building off his breakout 2025 playoff run with yet another stellar performance against the Red Sox. He allowed one earned run and four hits across eight frames in his last outing, and is down to a 1.77 ERA, which ranks fourth in the majors. He’s allowed three earned runs in two games, but he’s only given up one home run and four walks through 35.2 innings and six starts.
deGrom, 37, doesn’t pitch as deep into games. He’s making his sixth start on Tuesday, one less than Schlittler, but he’s also only thrown 25.1 innings this season. His longest outing was six frames against the Dodgers, but every other start lasted no more than 5.2 innings. Despite this, deGrom still has strikeout stuff, racking up 35 punch outs.
