Hathaway’s follow-up to Mother Mary is a long-awaited sequel, The Devil Wears Prada 2. For those unfamiliar, the original was a light-hearted look into the extravagant, demanding world of fashion. In the original, Andrea Sachs (Hathaway) attempted to find a foothold in the industry, all while navigating demanding boss Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep). Most of the original cast, including Streep, will be returning. That includes fellow Oscar nominees Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci. On paper, Prada 2 has all the makings of a smash hit when it comes out on May 1st.
Next on the list is, somehow, an even bigger blockbuster. The Odyssey might be *the* movie of the summer, just based off of the cast alone. It’s not the first attempt to bring Homer’s ancient Greek epic to the silver screen. However, the project is director Christopher Nolan’s first since 2023’s Best Picture winner, Oppenheimer. Safe to say, expectations are high going into this one, hitting theaters on July 17th. Hathaway will play Penelope, starring alongside Matt Damon as Odysseus. However, the names don’t stop there. Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Tom Holland, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal and Lupita Nyong’o are just a few of the stars set to make an appearance.
Wrapping up Hathaway’s jam-packed summer will be The End of Oak Street, slated to come out on August 14th. David Robert Mitchell’s film will also star Ewan McGregor (Trainspotting). Right now, details on the movie are limited, but it appears to be a supernatural thriller. Elements including cosmic horror and even dinosaurs (!) could be in play here according to the trailer. A fun popcorn flick, if executed correctly, always makes for a crowd pleaser.
Closing out 2026 for Hathaway will be Verity, directed by Michael Showalter. It’s another thriller, this time centering around a mysterious author. The cast is promising, with Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett as co-leads. Hathaway will be playing the titular character, Verity Crawford, a bestselling writer with some dark secrets. This one is set for a fall release, giving it some distance from the rest of Hathaway’s films this year.
