The Jacksonville Jaguars are still looking to get to that next level. They won the division last season and secured a home playoff game. However, they were knocked out in the Wild Card Round by the Bills. Trevor Lawrence is playing well enough to win a lot of games, but he can’t take down the likes of Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes in the postseason. The Jaguars need to improve their roster to that top-tier level if they want to beat the elites of the AFC. Unfortunately, the Jaguars have no first-round draft pick.

Here are the details you need to know about the Jaguars’ draft capital before draft day, plus a prediction and pick for the second round.

Jacksonville Jaguars team needs

The Jaguars have a great roster, and that’s why they won 13 games last year. They finished fifth in the NFL in defensive EPA/play last season, finishing top seven in rush defense and pass defense. They can still add more on the defensive side of the ball, but they look great on that side of the ball. Offensively, the Jaguars are looking to add some more pieces. It was a down sophomore season for Brian Thomas Jr., but the Jaguars will hope that he gets back to his rookie form next season. There has also been a lot of speculation about how much offense Travis Hunter will be playing next season.

The Jaguars could use another wide receiver, but they also could add another running back. The Jaguars let Travis Etienne walk this offseason, making Bhayshul Tuten the new lead back. However, it is unclear how Tuten will handle that workload, so adding another running back to replace Etienne could be a good move. The other place the Jaguars could try to bolster is the middle of the defensive line. They could also add a player or two in the secondary after losing Greg Newsome and Andrew Wingard to free agency.

Jacksonville Jaguars Draft Prediction

The Jaguars do not have a first-round pick. In the second round, they will still have some great players to choose from. The best choice for them with the 56th pick could be former Texas linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. Hill is a high-floor player because he can play in multiple spots and has incredible athleticism. Purely from a physical perspective, he is ready for the NFL. While he is neither a high-end pass rusher or cover guy, he can do it all at a solid level. Later in the draft, the Jaguars could try to add a running back like Jonah Coleman or a wide receiver like Ja’Kobi Lane.
