Brought in to replace McDermott? Joe Brady, his long-time offensive assistant.
We’re some people looking for a more drastic switch or direction? Maybe. But remember, Buffalo now has two minority owners in Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady, not to mention a partnership with Toronto-based MLSE — the group that owns the Raptors. Is Joe Brady the Nick Nurse to Sean McDermott’s Dwane Casey? I guess we’ll know by February 2027.
As for the 2026 NFL Draft, the Bills are a little short on Day 1 and Day 2 picks thanks to the trade that brought DJ Moore in from Chicago. But not to worry, they’ll still be walking up to the podium seven times. Let’s get into it.

Buffalo Bills Team Needs
In a way, it feels like the Bills have already spent a second-round pick on a wideout, so I get the impression that the team will look elsewhere on Thursday evening — if they decide to keep the pick.
The No. 1 goal of new defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard will be to shore up a running defense that was absolutely gutted last season to the tune of 133.6 yards per game and 5.1 yards per opponent attempt, which made the Bills one of three teams to allow over five yards per carry in 2025. Buffalo has spent a lot of draft capital in recent years on the line. T.J. Sanders, Landon Jackson and DeWayne Carter were all picked in the first three rounds of either the 2024 or 2025 NFL Draft, all to somewhat underwhelming degrees of success. Look for the Bills to keep investing in the unit.
