WWE’s biggest event of the year kicks off tonight and is the first of a two-day WrestleMania. This is the seventh consecutive two-day WrestleMania and the second straight, taking place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. WrestleMania 42 is the first WrestleMania of WWE’s partnership with ESPN.

9:55 p.m. ET: Cody Rhodes retains the Undisputed Championship!
Randy Orton hit referee Charles Robinson with an RKO. Pat McAfee came out in a referee shirt, but Cody Rhodes kicked out. Orton hit McAfee with an RKO, but then Rhodes took advantage with a Corsshodes and won the match.
Everyone got what they wanted as McAfee and Jelly Roll left before the match officially started. Orton got off to a good start, but Rhodes quickly used his quickness to take advantage.
Orton seemed a little banged up during the match and was moving gingerly at times. He wasn’t as fast and agile as normal. To start this contest, we saw a more aggressive version of Rhodes. After a while, Orton returned to form and began to break down the champion. 12 minutes into the match, Orton started to bleed from his forehead.
During the match, Orton hit Rhodes with his signature move, the Crossrhodes. Then Rhodes responded with an RKO. Orton with an RKO out of nowhere, but Rhodes kicked out. 20 minutes into the match, Rhodes and Orton were unloading punches in the center of the ring.
After the match, Orton hit Rhodes with the title. Orton hit Rhodes with his iconic punt.
9:29 p.m. ET: Chaos erupts before the match starts!
Before the bell rang, McAfee hit Rhodes with the microphone. Then Rhodes hit McAfee with a crossroads. Jelly Roll appeared and put McAfee through an announce table. McAfee got taken out on a stretcher.
9:25 p.m. ET: Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton make their entrances!
It is time for the Main Event of WrestleMania Saturday! Two multi-generational wrestlers, Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, are facing off for the Undisputed Championship.
The crowd was singing Orton’s song while he was on the way to the ring. Rhodes had a cool entrance, with all of his past outfits on stage as he entered.
8:57 p.m. ET: Bianca Belair returned at WrestleMania 42!
Bianca Belair made her long-awaited return at WrestleMania 42 and announced that she is pregnant.
8:51 p.m. ET: John Cena announces the attendance
John Cena, the host, announced that tonight’s attendance for Night 1 of WrestleMania 42 is 50,816.
8:48 p.m. ET: Liv Morgan defeats Stephanie Vaquer to win the Women’s World Championship
After help from the Judgment Day, Liv Morgan picked up the victory over Stephanie Vaquer. Morgan is now a three-time Women’s World Champion.
Vaquer brought the fight to Morgan at the start of the match. Even though Morgan has more experience at WrestleMania, Vaquer was getting the best of her. It wasn’t long before Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez came out to help Morgan. But Vaquer still kicked out after being attacked.
Up next: Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Undisputed Championship.
8:18 p.m. ET: Gunther defeats Seth Rollins
At the end of this match, Bron Breakker made a shocking return and hit Rollins with a Spear, leading to Gunther putting Rollins to sleep.
Seth Rollins came out to a big ovation from the audience, but Gunther went after him right away. After being on the shelf for many months, Rollins appeared as a man possessed.
This was a hard-hitting contest and was so evenly matched. Although Gunther got the best of Rollins with his physicality, Rollins fought back. Rollins hit Gunther with a Pedigree and a Stomp, but Gunther kicked out at two. Later on, Rollins hit Gunther with a Pedigree on the announce table.
Even though this was Rollins’ first match since October 2025, he proved that he is still the same elite competitor. Rollins steps up and delivers every time at WrestleMania. This match will be hard to top throughout the rest of WrestleMania.
7:48 p.m. ET: Becky Lynch wins the Women’s Intercontinental title
Becky Lynch threw AJ Lee into the exposed turnbuckle, which allowed her to capitalize and record the pinfall. Now, Lynch is a three-time Women’s Intercontinental Champion. Lynch and Lee are 1-1 against each other in singles competition. The new champion is 5-4 at WrestleMania in her career.
To start the contest, Lee got the best of Lynch. But then Lynch took control outside the ring. When the action returned to the ring, Lee gained momentum.
This was an excellent match between two of the greatest women’s wrestlers in WWE history. The pace of tonight’s WrestleMania 42 card has been great.
7:37 p.m. ET: Becky Lynch vs. AJ Lee is the next match
The Wonder Years performed ‘New Lows’ as Becky Lynch made her entrance at WrestleMania 42. This match is for AJ Lee’s Women’s Intercontinental Championship. This is Lee’s first match at WrestleMania in 11 years.
7:24 p.m. ET: Paige & Brie Bella are Women’s Tag Team Champions!
Paige hit Alexa Bliss with a Rampaige to win the match and become Tag Team Champions with Brie Bella. On her first night back in WWE, Paige is once again a WWE Champion. Paige is now 2-0 at WrestleMania, and this was her first appearance at the event since 2015.
The Irresistible Forces displayed their power and dominance early in this contest. As soon as Paige entered the match, she showed her elite moveset. Charlotte Flair and Paige created a great moment when they squared off in the middle of the ring.
7:13 p.m. ET: Paige is back in WWE!
Nikki Bella came out and revealed that she is unable to compete, and she called Paige to replace her. Paige, a former WWE Divas Champion, was in WWE from 2011 to 2022. She was forced to retire from in-ring competition in 2017 but returned to action in AEW in 2022.
7:06 p.m. ET: The Women’s Tag Team Title Match is up next
The Irresistible Forces are defending their Women’s Tag Team Championship against The Bellas, Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss, and Bayley & Lyra Valkyria. This is the third match of tonight’s WrestleMania 42 card.
6:56 p.m. ET: Jacob Fatu defeats Drew McIntyre
In the end, Fatu hit McIntyre with his signature moonsault, leading to a victory. Fatu is now 2-0 at WrestleMania in his WWE career.
From the second the bell rang, as expected, Fatu and McIntyre began beating each other up. Fatu was the aggressor at the start of the match. McIntyre bounced back and picked up momentum throughout the match. Both wrestlers displayed their elite, versatile skill sets during this contest. Although they are both heavyweights, they don’t look like it. McIntyre began to hurt Fatu with a wrench.
As he always does, Fatu kept fighting back even after taking a ton of punishment. Each time it seemed like someone was closing in on the victory, the other responded. This was a hard-hitting match, and it delivered to previous expectations.
6:32 p.m. ET: IShowSpeed creates WrestleMania moment!
After the match, Logan Paul turned on Speed, but it backfired. Speed went on top of the post near the turnbuckle and hit Paul, who was lying on the announce table.
6:24 p.m. ET: The Usos & Knight def. The Vision & Speed
Speed and The Vision weren’t on the same page, which caused Knight to pick up the pinfall victory. Knight is now 3-1 at WrestleMania.
Speed started the match for his team and immediately showed off his athleticism. Knight took advantage after the first few minutes. The veteran team of The Usos and Knight seemed to lack the aggressiveness and quickness of The Vision. But eventually, it was evident which team had more experience.
6:10 p.m. ET: Six-Man Tag Team Match is up first!
The first match of WrestleMania 42 is Logan Paul, Austin Theory, and IShowSpeed vs. The Usos and LA Knight. This is the first of two matches airing on ESPN 2.
6:07 p.m. ET: John Cena kicks off WrestleMania 42
The host of WrestleMania 42, John Cena, makes his entrance to start the show.
