Anthony Edwards 4+ Three-Pointers Made (+145): The public thinks Edwards is ready to come out hot against the Nuggets in the first game of their Western Conference series in Denver. Edwards has been banged up and only played three games over the last month, but he did have 22 points and three three-pointers in his last game against the Rockets before the end of the regular season. Before his injury, he averaged 3.4 3PM (three-pointers made) in his first 58 games this season. He faced the Nuggets three times this season, going over this prop one time, and he has at least four 3PM against them in four of his last eight regular-season games against Denver. When he faced the Nuggets in the playoffs in 2024, he went over this prop in two of the seven games after going over it in two of the six games in the first-round series in 2023 between these teams. Even though he may not be fully back to 100%, he has enough of a chance to get hot from long range to make this prop attainable, and the public expects him to be ready to take on Jamal Murray, Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets in this rivalry series.
Luke Kennard o21.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-107): The Lakers will be without Luka Doncic (hamstring) and Austin Reaves (oblique) for the first game of their series against the Rockets, and Kennard is one of the top candidates to help carry the load in Game 1 on Saturday night. Kennard was acquired at the trade deadline from the Hawks and played 32 games for the Lakers, averaging 9.0 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists for 14.0 PRA (points, rebounds and assists). With the recent injuries, though, he’s stepped into a much bigger role. He only played 11 minutes in the regular-season finale, but he averaged 31 minutes a game in his four games before that, producing 14.5 points, 7.8 assists and 5.3 rebounds for 27.6 PRA in those matchups. He even had a triple-double with 15 points, 11 assists and 16 rebounds against the Mavericks, totaling 32 PRA. In this prop, the public is backing him to have at least 22 PRA in this matchup.
Jalen Brunson First Points Scorer (+496): The Knicks host the Hawks in Game 1 of their series in the third game of the four Game 1 matchups. Brunson to score the first points of the series is one of the hottest plays on the board. He has more first baskets than anyone else in this game by a wide margin. He has scored 14 first baskets this season (18.9% of his games), while no one in the rest of the 10 starters has had more than nine. Brunson has scored the first basket in three of his last 12 games (25%) and could look to be aggressive early in this matchup to establish his dominance against the Hawks’ backcourt. When he faced them in Atlanta just under two weeks ago, he had 30 points in 39 minutes, although he didn’t have the first basket in that contest. All first points scorer plays are longshot bets, but Brunson should get plenty of usage and could look to control the game right off the jump, making this a strong longshot to consider at just under 5:1.
