Minnesota Twins team total over 4.5 runs (+100) vs. Cincinnati Reds

There is a lot to like about the Twins tonight, which is why I’m taking them to go over 4.5 runs. First, they’ll be facing starter Brandon Williamson, a lefty, who has a 5.28 ERA with an xERA of 7.42 and a 6.36 FIP. Williamson hasn’t exactly had a tough schedule either, facing the Angels, Marlins, and Pirates. Tonight’s game will take place in Minnesota, with winds blowing out toward center field between 15-17 mph.

The Twins have put up some really strong numbers against lefties dating back to last season. Tonight’s expected lineup has a combined .332 wOBA, a .170 ISO, and a 10% BB% against lefties since last season. Once Williamson is done, he’ll turn the ball over to a bullpen that has a 2.35 ERA over the past week, but also an xERA of 4.88 and a 6.6 BB/9.

Chris Bassitt over 2.5 earned runs allowed (+107) vs. Cleveland Guardians

It’s been a very rough go for Bassitt in an Orioles uniform. He’s made three starts, lasting just 11 innings, and has an ERA of 9.00 with an xERA of 6.47 and a 6.17 FIP. It’s not going to get much easier tonight against a Guardians lineup that very well could have nine lefties in it. Lefties have always been the sore spot for Bassitt, who last season had a .352 wOBA with a 4.39 FIP and 13 of the 22 home runs he allowed last season. In the small sample for this year, he has a .493 wOBA with a 7.67 FIP. I like getting this at plus money and I also think it’s worth playing the Guardians team total as well.

Drake Baldwin 3+ H/R/RBI (+125) vs. Philadelphia Phillies

Taijuan Walker continues to struggle, and I’m going to keep taking advantage. Through three starts and 14.2 innings, he has a 7.36 ERA with a 6.57 xERA and a 6.51 FIP. His walks are up, he’s already allowed four home runs, and he’s yet to throw more than five innings. This has me liking Baldwin a lot, who has been the Braves’ best hitter to this point. Baldwin has at least three H/R/RBI in 13 of his 19 games, good for 68%! There is expected to be plenty of offense in this game, with the total set at 9.5 as of writing this morning. With Baldwin hitting in the heart of this lineup, I’m taking my shot here at +125.
