MLB Probable Pitchers Today: Full Starting Pitcher Matchups for April 17, 2026

Today’s slate features a full schedule of games, highlighted by Cam Schlittler continuing his dominant start against Kansas City, Joe Ryan taking on a struggling Reds lineup, and Jacob deGrom facing a Mariners team that has had trouble generating consistent offense.

New York Mets vs. Chicago Cubs Probable Pitchers

  • New York Mets: Kodai Senga
  • Chicago Cubs: Edward Cabrera
  • Time: 2:20 PM ET

While Senga hasn’t been great with his command, his 7.07 ERA is nowhere close to his 3.96 xERA and his 3.80 FIP. Cabrera allowed his first runs of the season in his last start against the Pirates after tossing 11.2 innings of shutout ball.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Cleveland Guardians Probable Pitchers

  • Baltimore Orioles: Chris Bassitt
  • Cleveland Guardians: Tanner Bibee
  • Time: 6:10 PM ET

Bassitt has really struggled to start the year, posting a 9.00 ERA with a 6.48 xERA and just a 4.0 K/9. He’ll face Bibee, who also has struggled out of the gate. HIs 6.38 ERA is accompanied by a 4.88 xERA and a 5.01 FIP.

Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies Probable Pitchers

  • Atlanta Braves: Martin Perez
  • Philadelphia Phillies: Taijuan Walker
  • Time: 6:40 PM ET

Perez has never been a big strikeout pitcher, but his current 3.7 K/9 through 14.1 innings is the lowest of his career. Walker has been as bad as advertised, as his 7.36 ERA is close to his 6.58 xERA and a 6.50 FIP.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Pittsburgh Pirates Probable Pitchers

  • Tampa Bay Rays: Nick Martinez
  • Pittsburgh Pirates: Bubba Chandler
  • Time: 6:40 PM ET

Martinez continues to allow a lot of home runs, with four leaving the park through 16.2 innings. Chandler likely has some regression coming soon, indicated by his 5.60 xERA.

San Francisco Giants vs. Washington Nationals Probable Pitchers

  • San Francisco Giants: Logan Webb
  • Washington Nationals: Zack Littell
  • Time: 6:45 PM ET

Webb simply hasn’t recovered since his Opening Day disaster, as he’s now allowed at least three runs in three of his four starts. Littell continues to give up home runs in bunches, allowing five through 15 innings.

Kansas City Royals vs. New York Yankees Probable Pitchers

  • Kansas City Royals: Michael Wacha
  • New York Yankees: Cam Schlittler
  • Time: 7:05 PM ET

Wacha has allowed just a single run through 21 innings of work against the White Sox, Guardians, and Braves. He’ll face Schlittler, who owns a 12.4 K/9 through 21.2 innings.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Miami Marlins Probable Pitchers

  • Milwaukee Brewers: Kyle Harrison
  • Miami Marlins: Janson Junk
  • Time: 7:19 PM ET

Harrison has been as good as advertised, as his 3.07 ERA with an xERA 3.71.

Detroit Tigers vs. Boston Red Sox Probable Pitchers

  • Detroit Tigers: Casey Mize
  • Boston Red Sox: Ranger Suarez
  • Time: 7:15 PM ET

Mize has seen a solid jump in his strikeouts, as he currently owns a 10.1 K/9, a new career-high. Suarez finally turned in a good start in a Red Sox uniform, shutting out the Cardinals through six innings.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Minnesota Twins Probable Pitchers

  • Cincinnati Reds: Brandon Williamson
  • Minnesota Twins: Joe Ryan
  • Time: 8:10 PM ET

Williamson has really struggled with his command, issuing nine walks through 15.1 innings. He’ll face Ryan, who currently has a 12.7% swing-and-miss rate.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Houston Astros Probable Pitchers

  • St. Louis Cardinals: Kyle Leahy
  • Houston Astros: TBD
  • Time: 8:10 PM ET

Leahy has been even worse than his ERA shows, even at 5.14. His xERA currently sits at 8.29 with a 5.01 FIP.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Colorado Rockies Probable Pitchers

  • Los Angeles Dodgers: Tyler Glasnow
  • Colorado Rockies: Ryan Feltner
  • Time: 7:45 PM ET

Glasnow continues to showcase his strikeout upside with an 11.1 K/9 through three starts. Meanwhile, Feltner has been even worse than it shows, as his 7.30 ERA comes with an 8.70 xERA.

San Diego Padres vs. Los Angeles Angels Probable Pitchers

  • San Diego Padres: German Marquez
  • Los Angeles Angels: Jose Soriano
  • Time: 9:38 PM ET

Marquez has allowed four runs in two of his three starts, along with five home runs. Soriano has been one of the best pitchers in the American League, allowing just a single run through 27 innings.

Texas Rangers vs. Seattle Mariners Probable Pitchers

  • Texas Rangers: Jacob deGrom
  • Seattle Mariners: Logan Gilbert
  • Time: 9:40 PM ET

deGrom is looking like his old vintage self, posting a 2.87 ERA with an xERA of 2.69 and a 12.6 K/9. Gilbert has some positive regression heading his way, as his 4.18 ERA comes with an xERA of 2.48 and a 2.65 FIP.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Arizona Diamondbacks Probable Pitchers

  • Toronto Blue Jays: Eric Lauer
  • Arizona Diamondbacks: Mike Soroka
  • Time: 9:40 PM ET

Lauer has been putting a lot of traffic on the basepaths, with 11 hits and nine walks through 12.2 innings. Soroka is coming off one of the strangest pitching lines, as he allowed four runs on five hits through 5.2 innings but also struck out 10.

Chicago White Sox vs. Athletics Probable Pitchers

  • Chicago White Sox: Davis Martin
  • Athletics: Aaron Civale
  • Time: 9:40 PM ET

Martin has a 5.07 xERA through 18 innings against the Royals, Blue Jays, and Marlins. He’ll face Civale, who has been solid thus far, allowing just three runs on 10 hits through 15.2 innings.
