Over his last two starts, he has gone a combined 12.1 innings and given up just one run. That is the 10th-best ERA in baseball this season among pitchers with at least 15 innings thrown.

The Dodgers are having no issues picking up where they left off last fall. The defending World Series champions once again look like the best team in baseball. It’s unsurprising, given they returned most of their championship roster while adding players like Kyle Tucker and Edwin Diaz. With a 13-4 record, the Dodgers have the best record in baseball. They are fantastic in every facet, ranking fifth in the MLB in both ERA and runs scored.
On the mound for the Dodgers tonight will be the great Shohei Ohtani. The four-time MVP is making his third start of the season. Ohtani has been flawless on the mound so far this season. He has thrown exactly six shutout innings in both of his starts. There is no reason to imagine Ohtani will slow down against this struggling Mets lineup.

My best bet for this game is for the Mets and Dodgers to go under the listed total of eight runs. Ohtani has been flawless on the mound this season, not giving up a single earned run in 12 innings of work. The Mets’ lineup, meanwhile, is a disaster. During this seven-game losing streak, they are averaging 1.4 runs per game. Ohtani should shut them down and turn it over to the strong Dodgers bullpen to make it another bad day at the office for the Mets’ bats. Meanwhile, Clay Holmes has been excellent this season with a 1.50 ERA. He should limit the damage from the Dodgers’ lineup. The Mets’ bullpen has also been excellent, with a 2.94 collective ERA.
