The NBA regular season has concluded, and the play-in tournament is now underway. Tipping off at 7:30 p.m. tonight, the Philadelphia 76ers will be squaring off with the Orlando Magic, with a seventh seed in the playoffs and a matchup with the Boston Celtics on the line.

Sixers at Magic Same Game Parlay:

Sixers -1.5 (-115)
The Sixers’ postseason outlook took a notable hit when it was announced that Joel Embiid underwent emergency surgery for appendicitis, which is likely to sideline him for the remainder of the year. But the Sixers have plenty of experience playing without the former MVP and are facing a flawed Magic team tonight. Orlando is coming off a concerning loss to the Celtics, in which Boston rested all their key players. If the Magic had gotten a win, they would be hosting this play-in game.
Instead, they will be playing in Philadelphia and looking to improve a 19-20 road record. They are also 18-21 against the spread on the road. The Sixers went 2-1 against the Magic in the regular season, and Orlando has some exploitable flaws on both sides of the ball. Philadelphia still has plenty of pressure on them as they attempt to find success in this era and there have been encouraging signs of growth from young players like Tyrese Maxey and V.J. Edgecombe. Expect the Sixers to play with more hunger and defend home court with a victory tonight to earn a playoff opportunity.
Tyrese Maxey 30+ Points (-136)
While Embiid still shows flashes of the elite talent he is when healthy, in many ways, the 76ers have already handed the keys of the franchise to Tyrese Maxey. The Kentucky product has ascended into an All-NBA caliber talent this year, leading the NBA in minutes per game and posting averages of 28.3 points, 6.6 assists, and 4.1 rebounds. He has scored 30+ in 28 games this year, including lighting up this Magic team for 43 points in their first matchup this year. Without Embiid, Maxey will have all the offensive freedom he desires. Count on him leading this game in shot attempts and recording 30+ points, even if it isn’t in the most efficient manner. His combination of blazing speed and perimeter shooting will be a challenge, and Maxey will leave it all on the floor as the lead offensive creator tonight.
Paul George 3+ Made Three-Pointers (-147)
It has been a frustrating tenure in Philadelphia for Paul George. But he has a chance to completely rewrite his Sixers legacy with a strong postseason effort, and expect this to start tonight. On the season, the nine-time All-Star is posting averages of 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists while knocking down 2.7 three-pointers per game on 39.2% efficiency. Across the 10 games he has played since returning from his 25-game suspension, George is averaging 21.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists while knocking down 41.5% of his perimeter shots and averaging 3.4 made three-pointers per game. He has made 3+ three-pointers in eight of the 10 games since returning. The 35-year-old called the suspension a blessing in disguise and has shown an improved athletic pop of late that was not there at the start of the season. Count on George being prepared to play his best basketball, and for three made three-pointers to be a comfortable bar to clear.
Wendell Carter Jr. 8+ Rebounds (-119)
The biggest matchup concern for the 76ers should be in the rebounding battle. Even when Embiid has been on the floor, this has been a vulnerable area for this Sixers team. In contrast, the Magic have multiple high-level rebounders who attack the glass at a high rate. Wendell Carter Jr. will spearhead this effort tonight. Carter Jr. is averaging 7.4 rebounds per game on the season and has tallied 8+ rebounds in 35 games. This includes all three matchups against the 76ers this year. The Magic will make a clear effort to attack the glass and Carter Jr. will be at the heart of this.
