Griffin’s luck is going to run out at some point, as his 5.09 xERA looms large over his 1.76 ERA. Meanwhile, Ashcraft has been as good as advertised, with his 2.12 ERA, an xERA of 2.19 and a 10.5 K/9.
San Francisco Giants vs. Cincinnati Reds Probable Pitchers
- San Francisco Giants: Landen Roupp
- Cincinnati Reds: Chase Burns
- Time: 12:40 PM ET
Roupp has been great at generating ground balls thus far, at a rate of 54.3%. He’ll oppose Burns, who has a 9.9 K/9 through his first three starts.
Kansas City Royals vs. Detroit Tigers Probable Pitchers
- Kansas City Royals: Kris Bubic
- Detroit Tigers: Keider Montero

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Chicago White Sox Probable Pitchers
- Tampa Bay Rays: Steven Matz
- Chicago White Sox: Anthony Kay
- Time: 2:10 PM ET
At least in the early going, Matz has seen impressive strikeout numbers, posting a 9.5 K/9 through 16 innings. Kay’s 2.45 ERA is miles away from his xERA of 7.25.
Texas Rangers vs. Athletics Probable Pitchers
- Texas Rangers: Jack Leiter
- Athletics: Jacob Lopez
- Time: 3:05 PM ET
Leiter has been racking up strikeouts, posting a massive 12.8 K/9 with a 17% swing-and-miss rate through 14.2 innings. Lopez has struggled mightily with his command, issuing 13 free passes through 13.1 innings.
Baltimore Orioles vs. Cleveland Guardians Probable Pitchers
- Baltimore Orioles: Shane Baz
- Cleveland Guardians: Parker Messick
- Time: 6:10 PM ET
Baz has been serviceable but not great through three starts. He has a 4.50 ERA with an xERA of 4.00 and a 3.66 FIP. Messick, meanwhile, has been nearly untouchable. He’s allowed just one run through 17.2 innings.
Colorado Rockies vs. Houston Astros Probable Pitchers
- Colorado Rockies: Tomoyuki Sugano
- Houston Astros: Lance McCullers Jr.
- Time: 8:10 PM ET

Seattle Mariners vs. San Diego Padres Probable Pitchers
- Seattle Mariners: Luis Castillo
- San Diego Padres: Walker Buehler
- Time: 8:40 PM ET
After shutting out the Yankees in his first start, Castillo has allowed 10 runs through seven innings in two starts since. He’ll face Buehler, who shutout the Rockies through six innings his last time out.
