What happened to Ketel Marte? Lineup updates for Diamondbacks vs. Orioles 4/14/26

First pitch of today’s Arizona Diamondbacks game is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. ET in just a few minutes. However, they’ll work without a star slugger in the lineup as Ketel Marte has been scratched from his appearance.

The power-slugging second baseman was supposed to bat leadoff but was scratched due to lower back tightness.

While Marte is slashing just .212/.278/.424 across 17 games this season, he’s belted four home runs already and has nine RBI for Arizona. His presence in the order will certainly be missed today.

The Diamondbacks are 9-8 on the season, third in the NL West. They lost the series opener against the Baltimore Orioles yesterday.
