Tonight, DraftKings Sportsbook is offering an amazing 30% profit boost promotion for the beginning of the NBA Play-In Tournament. Opt in and create a same game parlay (SGP) for this tilt between the Heat and the Hornets with your single-use Profit Boost Token. The only catch? The parlay must be at least four legs with odds of at least +300 or longer. Seems simple enough, right? So simple I think I’ll whip one up right now.

Here’s my favorite same game parlay for this evening’s Play-In matchup between Miami and Charlotte.

Heat vs. Hornets Same Game Parlay

  • Hornets ML
  • Alternate Total: Over 227.5
  • LaMelo Ball 8+ Assists
  • Kon Knueppel 3+ Three Pointers Made

Hornets ML

Charlotte went 28-10 in its final 38 games of the regular season. Prorated across an entire season, that’s the winning percentage of a squad with 60 wins. Yes, the Hornets did struggle a little down the stretch with elite competition, losing contests against the Celtics, Pistons and a full-strength 76ers roster, but that’s not relevant this evening. The Heat are far from elite. Needing a strong finish to have a chance at a top-six seed and a guaranteed playoff spot, Miami went 5-10 in its final 15 games, getting outscored by 4.5 points per 100 possessions. This is a stretch that also included a 136-106 beatdown at the hands of Charlotte back on March 17. I could see a similar script on Tuesday in the Play-In.

Alternate Total: Over 227.5

The Heat’s largest flaw in that aforementioned 15-game sample was defense. Miami surrendered 124.6 points per 100 possessions, a figure which ranked 28th in the NBA, besting only the actively-tanking Grizzlies and Wizards. Add in the sixth-highest pace in the league (102.3), and suddenly you’re left with a squad hemorrhaging 127.5 opponent points per contest. Woof. Meanwhile, the Hornets owned the best offensive rating in the Eastern Conference after the All-Star break (121.8). Few teams are as equipped to take advantage of the Heat’s woeful resistance on the defensive end.

LaMelo Ball 8+ Assists

Alright. We’ve established that this is going to be a euphoric offensive environment for the Hornets. That should mean counting stats galore for all your favorites in Charlotte’s starting five — and that’s before even factoring in extra playing time with a shortened postseason rotation. LaMelo Ball might not be a conventional pass-first point guard, but no one will deny that the former third-overall pick is a skilled playmaker. Ball finished the season with a 42.6% assist rate, which trailed only Nikola Jokic and Cade Cunningham among qualified players. Ball also managed at least eight dimes in seven of his final 11 starts of 2025-26.

Kon Knueppel 3+ Three Pointers Made

This last leg is all about synergy. Who’s going to be making the baskets on all those LaMelo Ball assists? How about Kon Knueppel? As he just so happened to lead the league in made three-pointers in his rookie campaign (273). It was a heck of a first impression for the fourth-overall pick in last summer’s draft, as Knueppel made 42.5% of his attempts from beyond the arc in his 81 games. That includes 53 contests with at least three triples converted. It doesn’t hurt the Duke product’s case that Miami allowed the sixth-most opponent three-point attempts per game, either. Look for Knueppel to make a huge statement in his first taste of postseason action.

SGP Odds: +320
