Fresh off one of the highest-rated episodes in Marvel history, Daredevil: Born Again is officially heating up. A major character death could shake up the back half of Season 2, too, not to mention all of the cameos and crossovers still to come.

When does Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Episode 5 come out?
Episode 5 will premiere on Disney+ at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday, April 14. The episode, which is titled The Grand Design, is expected to have a runtime between 50 and 60 minutes.
The second season will consist of eight episodes, compared to the nine-episode first season and the three 13-episode Netflix seasons. The ensuing three episodes will drop weekly through the finale on May 5, followed by The Punisher: One Last Kill special presentation on May 12.

Who will show up in this episode?
Barring any fake-out twists, a few characters just left the cast of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Buck Cashman took out the first mate of the Northern Star ship, Christofi Savva, while Bullseye’s attempt on Kingpin’s life resulted in the death of his wife, Vanessa. And with Swordsman going off the grid, he likely won’t return either. But while those three are out of the picture, the show has even more room to bring in legacy characters from the defunct Netflix universe. Here is a look at who could pop up in Season 2 Episodes 5:

What to expect in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Episode 5
Kingpin was already on the verge of going scorched Earth, but Bullseye killing Vanessa might just push him over the edge. Mr. Charles is starting to lose control of the relationship, while Governor McCaffrey had only reached a peace with the mayor thanks to his wife. On top of those political dealings being back up in the air, Bullseye is still on the loose – not to mention Daredevil. And even though Kingpin had Savva killed, Angela smuggled the recording of his testimony about the Northern Star to BB Urich. Blake is onto BB, but she now has even more ammo to use against an increasingly frustrated Kingpin.
Fans have been waiting long enough, but Jessica Jones is finally going to join the mainline MCU this season – hopefully, as soon as this week. She has a daughter now, too, although we don’t know who the father is. In the comics, Jessica had a daughter with Luke Cage named Danielle. Leaked set photos from Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 show Jessica with Luke and Finn Jones’ Danny Rand – a.k.a. Iron Fist – but the Defenders reunion could happen even sooner given the apparent family ties.

Marvel Studios confirmed in September 2025 that production for Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 would start in early 2026. Filming began in March. The third season of the revival is expected to come out in March 2027.
