The Japanese phenom, 31, has gone deep in back-to-back games, clearing three combined hits, runs, and RBIs with just one crack of the bat. Expect him to meet that threshold once again Monday night, facing struggling Mets lefty David Peterson. The 30-year-old veteran’s second-half woes from 2025 have spilled into this season, pitching to the tune of a 6.14 ERA (4.82 xERA) with a 1.84 WHIP across 14.2 innings. He’s been tagged for five earned runs in two straight outings.
Ohtani — having hit safely in all but four games this season — is 7-for-18 (.389) with an RBI in his career against Peterson.

That could spell trouble for the struggling sinkerballer, Peterson, against whom Pages is already 6-for-10 (.600) with a 1.500 OPS, a home run, and two RBIs in his career.
Luis Robert Jr. 1+ Walk (+156)
At least one of the Mets’ offseason gambles has paid off early. While Bo Bichette and Jorge Polanco adjust to New York, Luis Robert Jr. has looked right at home. Through 14 games, the former White Sox star is hitting .319 (.269 xBA) with a .904 OPS and a pair of home runs.
Perhaps most notable, Robert ranks eighth in the league with a staggering 20.3% walk rate — more than double his previous career-high of 9.3%, set last year. He’s drawn at least one free pass in all but four games so far.
The righty slugger, 28, looks poised to continue the trend Monday night against LA southpaw Justin Wrobleski. While off to a strong start, the young arm has issued an inflated 13.2% walk-rate over his first two appearances, placing him in the bottom quarter of MLB pitchers.
