Matchweek 32 of the Premier League continues on Sunday as Tottenham travel to take on Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland are slight +160 favorites on the moneyline for this one on DraftKings Sportsbook, with a draw available at +245. Fancy a Tottenham win? Spurs are +170 to pick up three points.

Sunderland vs. Tottenham Prediction, Pick

With only seven games remaining, it’s time for Tottenham fans to panic. They still have not won a Premier League game in 2026, and relegation is looming. The club made a last-ditch attempt to save the season, bringing in Roberto De Zerbi as their new manager for the final few games. Is it enough time for De Zerbi to implement the tactics he wants? No. However, it’s a fresh face in the building and a possibility of a new manager bounce. He’s the third man in the dugout for Spurs this season, and hopefully for Tottenham fans, the third time’s the charm.

Sunderland are coming off a big performance in their last game, getting a 2-1 away win against rivals Newcastle. The Black Cats have only lost one of their last four Premier League games. At the Stadium of Light, Sunderland have been solid this season. They enter matchweek 32 tied for the eighth-best home record in the division. They have only lost three times at home this season in 15 games.

Can Tottenham be the fourth? Well, I certainly wouldn’t bet on it. They are winless in 13 straight league games, which sounds like a stat that’s not even possible. Spurs have not won a game since these teams last met in January, and that game ended in a 1-1 draw in North London. Their last win came a week before that draw, a 1-0 win against Crystal Palace. Before the reverse fixture, these teams had not faced off since 2017, so there isn’t too much recent history to go off for this matchup.

I have watched enough of both of these two teams separately this season to know that one is massively overachieving, while the other is underachieving at an unprecedented scale. I won’t be betting on Tottenham in any scenario until they prove they can win and end this historical drought.
