The Main Event of tonight’s UFC 327 event is a spectacular contest between former title holder Jiri Prochazka vs. Carlos Ulberg. Prochazka looks to regain UFC gold for the first time in nearly four years, while Ulberg is out to realize his dream of becoming UFC Champion. UFC 327 is taking place in Miami, Florida, at the Kaseya Center.
Check out my best bet for Jiri Prochazka vs. Carlos Ulberg, which is the Main Event of UFC 327.
Jiri Prochazka Moneyline (-108)
Since entering the UFC in 2020, Prochazka went right into the deep end of the Light Heavyweight division. Four of Prochazka’s UFC fights have been against a current or former UFC Champion. Alex Pereira is 2-1 against Prochazka as he has his number. But now that Pereira is in the Heavyweight division, Prochazka aims to become the Light Heavyweight king once again.
Ulberg, 35, is 14-1 with 10 finishes in his career and is riding a nine-fight winning streak in the UFC. “Black Jag” comes from New Zealand and trains at the legendary MMA gym, City Kickboxing. Eugene Bareman has produced many top fighters, including Alexander Volkanovski and Israel Adesanya. Ulberg is Bareman’s latest fighter to try to become a UFC Champion.
The line for this fight has moved during the week, but Ulberg is currently the slight favorite at -112 with Prochazka being a -108 underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook. Prochazka is +140 to win by knockout, as Ulberg is +175 to do the same.
This is a fascinating matchup between two fighters who have vastly different styles. Ulberg fights with a calm demeanor and likes to be patient when figuring out his opponent. On the other hand, Prochazka moves forward and is always looking for a finish. Ulberg is taller (6’4″ vs. 6’3″), but the former title holder has a three-inch reach advantage (80″ vs. 77″).
Although Ulberg averages more significant strikes per minute while being better defensively, it could be hard for him to deal with Prochazka’s style. Ulberg lost his first UFC fight by knockout, but he hasn’t been tested a ton since. If Prochazka can make this a war on the feet, it heavily favors him, as he has a ton of experience in those situations.
