Two decades later, the delightfully dysfunctional family from Malcolm in the Middle is back on TV.
And they’ve learned absolutely nothing.
Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair, the long-awaited revival of the early-2000s hit sitcom, premieres this weekend on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
Featuring much of the original cast and helmed by former showrunner Linwood Boomer, the four-part event drops in full on Friday, April 10, at 12 a.m. ET.
The series picks up roughly 20 years after the conclusion of the iconic sitcom, which aired on Fox from 2000 to 2006.
Malcolm (Frankie Muniz), having intentionally distanced himself from his chaotic birth family, is now living happily with his daughter, Leah (Keeley Karsten), and his girlfriend, Tristan (Kiana Madeira).
That is — until he gets torn back into the fray after Hal (Bryan Cranston) and Lois (Jane Kaczmarek) demand his attendance at their 40th anniversary party.
Justin Berfield and Christopher Masterson will return as Reese and Francis for the revival, though Erik Per Sullivan declined the invitation to reprise his role as Dewey. The eccentric family’s nonchalant second-youngest will be played by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark.
