Matchweek 31 of La Liga starts on Friday as Real Madrid take on Girona in a game that sees second place take on 12th.

Madrid are -360 favorites on the moneyline for this one on DraftKings Sportsbook, with a draw available at +550. Fancy a Girona upset? They are +800 to pick up three points.

Real Madrid vs. Girona Prediction, Pick

This bet can be found under the “Match Parlays” tab. Real Madrid will likely have one eye on Wednesday’s second leg quarter-final of the Champions League against Bayern Munich, but I still think a rotated team can get the job done in this game. It’s now or never for Los Blancos in La Liga, as a loss to Mallorca in their last game puts them seven points behind leaders Barcelona. With only eight games to go, there is no more room for slip-ups.

On the other hand, Girona are in no man’s land in the table and don’t have much to play for at this stage of the season. They are eight points clear of the relegation zone and seven points behind the last European place. The likelihood that they truly enter into a race for either with so few games remaining is small.

The last five meetings between these teams have had a common theme. Real Madrid have won four of the games and drawn one. In all four of the wins, Madrid kept a clean sheet. It hasn’t been a season to remember so far for Real Madrid in La Liga, but they still have the best defensive record. Los Blancos have only allowed 28 goals in 30 games. This is a good matchup for them to get another clean sheet, as Girona have struggled to score goals. Their 32 goals in 30 games are tied for the fourth-worst record in the division, as only three other teams have scored fewer.

Expect rotation from the home team ahead of their big UCL game in midweek, but they should still have enough on both ends of the pitch to get the win and keep a clean sheet in the process.

The Pick: Real Madrid Win to Zero (+120)
