Best NBA player prop bets for Wednesday 4/8/26

A seven-game, 14-team slate is on tap across the NBA this evening. Wednesday offers up some intriguing matchups, starting with a potential postseason preview between the Hawks and Cavaliers. Elsewhere, the Timberwolves look to pick up a crucial road win against the Magic in Orlando. At night, the defending champion Thunder battle Kawhi Leonard’s Clippers.

Which players should bettors be targeting this evening? Here are my three favorite NBA prop bet picks on DraftKings Sportsbook for Wednesday’s contests.

Top NBA prop bet picks

De’Aaron Fox 22+ points (-107)

Victor Wembanyama (ribs) and Stephon Castle (knee) have both been listed as doubtful for Wednesday’s game vs. Portland. Even if the two miss tonight’s game, the Spurs will still have a shot at victory thanks to De’Aaron Fox. The former All-Star has thrived during his first full season in Texas. Over 69 games with San Antonio, Swipa has accounted for 18.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 6.1 assists to go with 49/33/76 shooting splits. Still, as second fiddle to Wemby, his counting stats can fluctuate on any given night.

Without their face of the franchise, the Spurs have no better option than Fox to carry their offense tonight. Over 28 career games played in San Antonio without Wembanyama active, the guard is averaging 22.2 points. In five of his last seven games under those conditions, Fox has managed to reach 22 points. This evening’s opponents, the Trail Blazers, operate at the NBA’s ninth-quickest pace on offense. With ample possessions and decreased blowout potential, Fox should have every opportunity to put up shots tonight.

Aaron Gordon under 1.5 three-pointers made (-135)

Injuries have held back Aaron Gordon for much of the 2025-26 season. When healthy, the forward is a two-way difference maker, capable of impacting a game in a number of different ways. Through 35 games, he’s recorded 16.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists for the Nuggets. An underrated component of Gordon’s skillset comes from beyond the arc. Over the past two seasons, he’s knocked down an impressive 41.6% of all three-point attempts. With Nikola Jokic drawing in defensive attention, that level of floor spacing comes in handy.

Gordon’s shooting, while impressive, hasn’t been at its best recently. The power forward has made less than two treys in five of his last seven outings. In theory, a date with the Grizzlies could offer more success from deep. After all, they’ve allowed the seventh-most three-pointers made per game this season (14.0). However, Memphis’ current roster is absolutely starved for NBA talent. It would be a shock if this one remains close going into the fourth quarter. Streaky shooting and uncertain playing time makes Gordon a prime fade from long distance.

Derrick Jones Jr. 4+ rebounds (-110)

Since trading away Ivica Zubac, the Clippers are fairly short-handed down low. To make matters worse, backup center Isaiah Jackson (ankle) is sidelined tonight. It’ll be veteran Brook Lopez and not much else manning center for LA. To hold a tenacious Thunder squad at bay, it’ll take a group effort from this Clippers front court. That includes Derrick Jones Jr., a versatile wing that does a little bit of everything. This season, the tenth-year pro is putting up 10.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.

Oklahoma City is nothing short of a juggernaut, capable of decimating any team on any given night. If there’s a dent in the armor for this group, it’s on the glass. The Thunder have allowed 54.7 rebounds per game to opponents, seventh-most in basketball. Jones Jr. has managed to snag at least four boards in seven of his last ten appearances. He’d be well-positioned to hit this line even if Jackson were healthy. Given Los Angeles’ issues at center, DJJ will be relied on now more than ever as a rebounder. Barring a total blowout, he should find a way to hit this line.
