AEW Dynamite takes place tonight, April 8, 2026, at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This will be the final episode of Dynamite before AEW Dynasty, which takes place on Sunday, April 12 in Vancouver. So far, two matches and two segments have been announced, including the first time we’ll hear from Chris Jericho since his return to AEW last week.

AEW Dynamite Match Card for Tonight (April 8, 2026)
Here’s a look at what’s on tap for tonight’s AEW Dynamite card in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada!
The Don Callis Family (Andrade El Idolo, Mark Davis & Konosuke Takeshita) vs. Bandido, Darby Allin & Jack Perry – Trios Match
Despite plenty of bad blood between Allin and Perry in the past, they all have one thing in common, they despise the Don Callis Family. With Brody King no longer in the match due to personal reasons, the dynamic of this matchup shifts slightly. However, they’ll all team up tonight to take on three members of the family: Andrade, Davis and Takeshita.
This match will likely focus a lot on what we’ll see at AEW Dynasty, as Allin will be facing Andrade in a one-on-one match with a special stipulation. Should Allin defeat Andrade, he’ll be next in line to face whomever the AEW World Champion is after Dynasty. That seems to be the only thing that MJF and Kenny Omega can agree upon currently. Nonetheless, I would expect the focus to be heavily on that. This should be a fantastic match that’ll feature some vastly different wrestling styles, but ones that should blend well together. However, I feel as if the established DCF will take the victory here.

WWE fans have turned on celebrity appearances at WrestleMania and honestly, it’s hard to argue with them.
Willow Nightingale vs. Queen Aminata – TBS Championship Match
After The Babes of Wrath lost the AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship, Nightingale has been able to focus 100% on defending her TBS Championship. We saw on a special Thursday edition of AEW Collision that she issued an open challenge to anyone for her TBS Championship. It was answered by none other than Hikaru Shida, whom we haven’t seen on AEW television since November 2024. Shida was unsuccessful in her bid for the TBS Championship, which brings us to this match on Dynamite.
This will be the first singles match for Aminata since September of last year, as she’s been seeing a lot of action in multi-women matches since then. This will also be her first title match in AEW history since joining the company back in 2021. However, I don’t expect her to be successful in her first shot at a singles title, and we’ll likely find out who’ll face Nightingale at Dynasty at the conclusion of this match.

Chris Jericho will address his return to AEW
The last time we saw Chris Jericho on AEW before last week, you have to go all the way back to April 9, 2025. He stormed out of AEW Dynamite following his loss to Bandido at AEW Dynasty 2025. Rumors ran rampant while he was off TV, with many people convinced he was going to WWE. After not being seen at the Royal Rumble or being revealed to be in the crate, his WWE return seemed more unlikely.
Last week, as Dynamite was about to kick off with the contract signing between Kenny Omega and MJF, Chris Jericho surprisingly showed up and declared to his hometown of Winnipeg that he’s “home.” While it was a shocking return, Jericho gave no indication of what’s next for him in AEW. We’ll (likely) find out more on tonight.
