What happened to Daniel Gafford? Live injury updates for Mavericks vs. Lakers on Sunday 4/5/26

UPDATE: Gafford won’t return.

With 9:33 left in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers, Daniel Gafford was replaced by Marvin Bagley III. Gafford injured his right arm after securing a defensive rebound. He is now in the locker room.

Prior to exiting, Gafford contributed seven points, seven rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 20 minutes of action. Bagley would be the beneficiary if Gafford misses time while Dwight Powell would see an increase in playing time backing up Bagley at center.

Since the injury occurred after halftime, Gafford will not be eligible for DraftKings Early Exit.
