Manchester City vs. Liverpool prediction, pick for Saturday 4/4/26

There is a massive FA Cup quarter-final match on Saturday between Liverpool and Manchester City. These two teams are both still battling across multiple competitions and would love to get into the last four of the FA Cup. The match begins at 7:45 am EDT in Manchester, England.

Manchester City are -125 favorites, while Liverpool are +300 underdogs to pull off the upset at the Etihad. The odds are +310 for the match to end in a draw. This is my prediction and pick for the FA Cup tie between Liverpool and Manchester City.

Liverpool vs. Manchester City Prediction

Liverpool Preview

It has not been a perfect season for Liverpool by any means. The defending Premier League champions are on the outside looking in to finish in the top four. Liverpool legend Mo Salah has announced he is leaving the club at the end of the season, and there have been rumors around the safety of Arne Slot’s job. However, Liverpool are into the quarterfinals of both the FA Cup and the Champions League. A major trophy and a finish in the Champions League places would still be a good season for Liverpool. Performances have just been far too inconsistent from Liverpool. Injuries have played a role, and to make matters worse, Liverpool might be without Jeremie Frimpong after he got injured while playing with Holland.

Manchester City Preview

There is still plenty to play for if you’re Manchester City. The Blues have already won a trophy, defeating Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final. They are now trying to use that momentum to chase down Arsenal in the Premier League. Additionally, Manchester City would love to win the domestic cup double by adding an FA Cup to their Carabao Cup. The legendary Pep Guardiola is expected to leave at the end of the season. Manchester City want to send him off in the best way possible, and in Guardiola’s mind, that means with as many trophies as possible.

Liverpool vs. Manchester City Pick

My best bet for this match is for Liverpool and Manchester City to go over 2.5 goals and for both teams to score. These two great sides have already faced off twice in the Premier League, and both matches went over 2.5 goals. The Blues won 3-0 at the Etihad in November, and they won 2-1 in a thriller at Anfield in February. Liverpool have had their struggles, but they have scored at least once in 14 of their past 16 games. They will be desperate to move along in the FA Cup and will push to score goals. However, Liverpool have also been vulnerable at the back and they are likely to concede. Especially because Liverpool are likely to be short-handed with Jeremie Frimpong injured on international duty and Conor Bradley out for the season. This could be Pep Guardiola’s final match against Liverpool, and it should be a great high-scoring battle.

Best Bet: Over 2.5 Total Goals & Both Teams to Score (-135)
