The Toronto Raptors are fighting for playoff seeding as they seek to avoid a Play-In Tournament appearance. The task is easier said than done as they battle injuries though, including one that may sideline Scottie Barnes on Wednesday night against the Sacramento Kings.
Barnes has been added to the official NBA injury report due to a shoulder issue. He currently has a questionable tag. With this being night two of a back-to-back for Toronto, be sure to monitor the situation throughout the day.
The 24-year-old forward isn’t the only Raptors player to pop up on the injury report, either. Brandon Ingram has been ruled out, as have Immanuel Quickley and Jamison Battle.
Barnes made the second All-Star team of his career this year and averages 18.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game. While he scored just five points in last night’s loss to the Detroit Pistons, he tallied 12 assists for his fifth consecutive game of double-digit dimes. If he does play, watch for him to garner an elevated usage rate with Ingram and Quickley sidelined.
The Raptors are 42-33 overall and sit sixth in the Eastern Conference with a slim one-game lead on that seed. They have just seven contests remaining on their regular-season schedule, so every single one matters if they’re to avoid the Play-In.
Toronto is listed as an 11.5-point home favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook tonight against the Kings.
