The PGA TOUR is hosting the Valero Texas Open before the Masters next week. The Valero Texas Open will be played at the Oaks Course of TPC San Antonio (par 72, 7,428 yards, POA trivialis greens), which has been the home of this event since 2010. Brian Harman (-9) is the defending champion of the Valero Texas Open and for this week, there will be 132 players competing and a top-65 and ties cut after the first two rounds.
Below, I have featured two of my favorite long shot outright bets to win the Valero Texas Open on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Adrien Dumont de Chassart (+10500)
Dumont de Chassart is worth a flier at these long odds. The Belgian professional missed the cut in his one start at TPC San Antonio two years ago, but he is playing far better golf nowadays. Dumont de Chassart missed three of his previous five cuts before the 2024 Valero Texas Open, but he has made four straight cuts with no finishes worse than T-26 entering this week.
Dumont de Chassart sits 48 spots higher in the world golf rankings this time around and just this past week, he finished T-12 at the Houston Open. Dumont de Chassart closed the event with a 5-under 65 and he ranked 15th in both SG APP and SGP at Memorial Park. Dumont de Chassart ranks 17th in total strokes gained when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds and while he has yet to win on the PGA TOUR, Dumont de Chassart is a two-time winner on the Korn Ferry Tour, most recently with a victory at the Compliance Solutions Championship this past October.
William Mouw (+11000)
Mouw is less than a year removed from his breakthrough win at the ISCO Championship and the 25-year-old looks ready to contend again soon. Mouw has finished T-6, T-24 and T-44 in his last three starts, and outside of around the greens, he gained strokes in every major category in each of these starts. Mouw has shot under par in nine of these 12 rounds and he ranks fourth in total driving this season.
Being efficient with your driver has been an advantage at TPC San Antonio, as three of the past four winners here have finished the week top-12 in SG OTT. Mouw finished a solid T-33 in his first attempt at TPC San Antonio last season and he returns to the track 69 spots higher in the world golf rankings. Mouw is a much more polished player now and these odds are just too long for him.
